Greetings!
I sit at my desk today surrounded by beautifully wrapped packages, festive bags and thoughtful cards. As I look around the school I see smiles and hear sounds of laughter and my heart fills with joy. I am so thankful that God brought me to St. Charles School. I am so thankful that you chose me to be a part of this wonderful community. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to be a part of your family and get to know your children. I am so proud of my students, my teachers and the staff at St. Charles. From my family to yours have a blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Put your thinking caps on, get your creative juices flowing, and prepare for some fierce competition. Trivia night is scheduled for Saturday, January 30. Prizes for the most creative table decorations! The teachers are up for a challenge. Are you ready?

Weekly School Mass & Reconciliation
Please join us as we celebrate weekly Mass every Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. Each homeroom takes turns planning Mass throughout the school year.  That same week, one grade level will attend Reconciliation.

Parenting Tips - Don't Throw A Curve Ball!father-child-beach.jpg
The brain processes information of what to do more efficiently than what not to do. A classic story is told about a baseball pitcher.
  • It is the end of the ninth inning. Bases are loaded. A heavy hitter approaches the plate. The coach calls a timeout. He approaches the mound and says to the pitcher, "Do not throw a curve ball."
  • The pitcher's brain frantically tries to decode the information. He repeats to himself, "No curveball. Don't throw a curveball." Unfortunately, the focus of his brain was a curveball. Sure enough, that is what he threw... a curveball.
  • Had the coach simply instructed the pitcher to throw a fastball; the pitcher would have been "programmed" to throw a fastball. Inadvertently, the coach "programmed" the pitcher to throw a curveball. Needless to say, they lost the game.
Too many adults are losing the game. We must verbally and visually tell children what TO DO.
