St. Charles Catholic School Weekly News
October 23, 2015
The rosaries were sent home this week with the first student in each classroom! Prayer is powerful.

The last day of the quarter is today, Friday, October 23rd.  If your child is in grades 3-8 and you have not logged into MSP (My Student's Progress) this fall, please do so.  Report Cards will be sent home with students on Thursday, October 29th. Please check with your homeroom teacher to see if they need to be signed and returned.

Charger Breakfast - every 2nd and 4th Tuesday we will celebrate 5-8th students that have followed the beatitudes of St. Charles Catholic School. On the Monday before, homeroom teachers will draw two names from all the students in the class that have not gotten a demerit. These students whose names are drawn will join me for breakfast following all school Mass in the commons. If you attend Mass and your child is one of my guests that week, you are welcome to join us!

Today was the last day to wear uniform shorts.  Monday, October 26th is the first day to wear uniform pants.  Please remember, Pants must be uniform navy. (7th and 8th graders may also wear khaki pants.) Pants may not hang below the waistline. Capri pants may also be worn by girls.  Uniform sweatshirts only (with our school logo) are allowed. 8th graders may wear their class hoodies to school, but may not wear them while attending Mass.

Sincerely,
Ann Lachowitzer
Principal

Got used crayons and markers?
RECYCLE them!
Here at St. Charles we want to do our part in keeping the Earth clean and COLORFUL, so bring us your unwanted, rejected, and broken crayons and we'll send them off to be recycled into NEW crayons. We are also accepting not only Crayola markers, but any brand of dry erase markers and highlighters. These can be re-purposed by converting them into clean energy. Sounds great, right? By getting involved with this program, you'll be teaching your kids to recycle something that belongs to them. So gather up all of your used markers and crayons and send them to school with your kids. Together we can make the future of Earth BRIGHT

Weekly Parenting Skills
Weekly Parenting Skill - Parenting middle-school children requires a whole different set of parenting skills than parenting younger children. This is an age where children are growing up and exerting their independence. Hormones are raging, and emotions are all over the map. Peer pressure, body changes and higher expectations from school add to the turmoil, causing your little darling to turn into a moody, insolent teenager. You made it through the "terrible two's," but that was about a decade ago. You can get through parenting middle-school children too, especially if you have a strategy in place.

For Your Information:

  • Pizza Lunch - November 5 (orders due by October 29)
November 19 (orders due by November 13)
  • Smoothie King - November 20 (orders due by November 13)
Happy Birthday this week to:
Morgan, 4th Grade - October 28th
