St. Charles Catholic School Weekly News
September 18, 2015
Do you spend your day finding fault in your children or co-workers? Do you point out what is wrong? Are you ready to focus on what's right? As parents/adults, we can choose where we want to put our attention. To commit to seeing the positive in what others around us do follow this suggestion.
The positive recognition formula:

Examples:
  • You studied hard, and got an A on your test. That helped your Math grade.
  • You responded to my email so quickly. That helps client retention.
  • You gave me information about what is going on at school. That helps me be a supportive parent.
  • You did your chores. That was helpful in keeping our house organized.
  • You scooted over so your friend has space. That was helpful.
  • You raised your hand so others can learn. That was helpful.
  • You asked her to play so she can be included. That was helpful.
  • You brushed your teeth and got your pajamas on. That was helpful.
  • You put your shoes on and remembered your homework. That was helpful.
  • You said excuse me so he knows you care. That was helpful.
  • You picked up all the toys by yourself. That was helpful.
Are you finding the positive things others do around you?

On Tuesday, September 15th, the 8
th grade students attended their retreat at the Sisters of St. Francis Retreat Center. It was a beautiful day and I am so glad I got to attend. The students learned more about human dignity and self-identity.

As always, I wish you well!
