St. Charles Catholic School Weekly News
September 11, 2015
We are constantly modeling a code of conduct and a value system through our daily interactions with our children and others around us. It is easy to model respect and calm when life is going our way. But what happens when we become stressed and life feels complicated? How do you handle the driver who is to close or cuts you off? What is your response to others that don't agree with your ideas and thoughts? Your children see how you handle life's tough issues. They see your parental body language, tone of voice and reactions.
The days of, "Do what I say, not what I do," is over. To teach life skills successfully, we must model expected behavior throughout the ups and downs and ins and outs of daily life. As a parent, you must guide your child and help them overcome what life deals them.
This week's Conscious Commitment will remind you to be the person you want your children to be.
As always, I wish you well!

Curriculum Night
Thanks to all the parents/guardians that attended Curriculum Night. If you attended, you will be receiving a very brief survey via email. The survey tool we will use is anonymous, and helps us gather feedback about school events throughout the year. Thank you in advance for completing it! Please notify your child's teacher if you missed the event and would like any information handed out.

Dress Up Day
THANK YOU to all parents and students who read the handbook and completed the form for a free dress up day. We set the expectations with students on Thursday regarding appropriate outfits. We are so pleased to say that we didn't have to call one parent about changing clothes. It is so important to set the right expectations. Thank you for following the dress guidelines, we appreciate it very much!
