St. Charles Catholic School Weekly News 
August 21, 2015
The staff of St. Charles Catholic School welcomes all of our students back to school! We have worked hard all summer completing maintenance projects, cleaning the building, and of course getting the air conditioning up and running. We are all so excited and ready for the new school year. We have a few new faces in our school family this year, so please make them feel welcome. 

Since we are partnering with F.I.R.E., this year, Brenda Wyant, has joined our staff as a paraprofessional working with one of our special needs students. She is a retired teacher and brings a wealth of experience to our school. Brenda will be primarily working with Mrs. Clausen in 4th grade, but has agreed to assist students if they are in need of extra help in grades K-8.

New to our library this year is Doreen Finnell. Doreen is also a retired teacher who loves literature and reading. She will be volunteering in the library on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Doreen plans to assist our teachers in helping them meet some of the Reading and Language Arts Diocesan standards. 

We are grateful for these two ladies and appreciate their dedication to Catholic education!

Chess Club
St. Charles Catholic School Chess Club welcomes all preschool through 8th grade students. The Chess Club will meet on Mondays after school. Fall sessions begin Monday, August 31st and run through December 14th.

Uniform sweatshirts, 1/4 zip pullovers and assorted spirit wear items are now available for purchase.  Completed orders with payment are due by Wednesday, September 16, 2015
DID YOU KNOW?
St. Charles Catholic School Class of 2016 is gearing up for a great school year!  We are once again selling trash bags to help with our 8th grade class activities and gift back to the school when we graduate. The price will remain the same, $10 per roll.  We will carry the following 3 sizes in strong, durable trashbags:
  • Blue Bags: Supersize bags - 55 gallons - holds 2 full yellow bags or 3 to 4 white bags
  • Yellow bags: Garage/yard can size  -  39 gallons - holds 2 full white bags
  • White bags - Kitchen size - 15 gallons
For your convenience, Trash Bags are sold by the roll or case through the kindness of our school secretary, Linda Krickle, in the school office.  If you have a particular 8th grade student you know and would like to credit them with your purchase, please mention their name at the time of sale.
