Middle and High School Student Councils have planned a week of fun spirit days to kick-off of winter sports season! The theme for each day is listed below.
Elementary School Students- Friday: Neon Day (Wear your favorite neon colors for an extra special pep rally on Friday.)
Middle School Students
Student council will vote every day on which team participated the best. The team that wins each day will be rewarded 10,000 points.
- Monday: Blue vs. Gold
- Tuesday: Heroes (Gold) vs. Villains (Blue) (avoid scary and gruesome)
- Wednesday: Baby (Blue) vs. Old (Gold)
- Thursday: Summer (Gold) vs. Winter (Blue)
- Friday: Neon Day
Dress Code Parameters: All skirts and shorts need to meet dress code. Shoulders need to be covered and no sleeveless shirts. No inappropriate pictures or words on t-shirts. No opened-toed shoes. Any rules that Mrs. Bradford adds. :)
High School Students
- Monday: SCS Spirit Day
- Tuesday: Character Day - Dress up as your favorite character from a movie, TV show, or book.
- Wednesday: ABC Day - Dress up as something that starts with the first letter of your name. For example; someone named Taylor could dress as a tennis player.
- Thursday: Tacky Tourist Day
- Friday: Neon Day
Dress Code Parameters: Jeans can be worn for all days. Girls may not wear shorts, leggings, or shorts over leggings. Skirts must be the regular length approved for everyday school wear. Neither girls nor guys can wear tank tops. Simply, dress modestly.

Extra Spirit Shirts Available

If you forgot to order a spirit shirt last month, now is your chance to get one. We have some extra spirit shirts available at the front office.
- $10 for 100% cotton shirt
- $12 for the lightweight ring spun cotton shirt
Designs, colors and sizes vary and are on a first come first serve basis; orders will not be taken.

Der Dutchman Pie Vouchers Now Available
|
Our Global Family Committee is excited to be offering Der Dutchman pie vouchers again this year just in time for Thanksgiving.
Proceeds will go to our 13 partner schools around the world, which SCS supports with prayer and finances while learning about their cultures in our classrooms.
ORDERING: Simply fill out an order form and turn-in with payment (cash or checks payable to SCS) by Monday, November 7.
With over 20 different pies to choose from, they are perfect for:
- Thanksgiving meal planning
- Christmas dinner
- Stocking stuffers
- Appreciation or hostess gifts
- Birthday presents and more
Everyone loves pie, so don't forget to ask your friends and family to order a voucher too!
Orders can be turned in to the front office or homeroom/first period teacher. Extra order forms are available in the main lobby.
DELIVERY: Pie vouchers will be delivered to students on Friday, November 11.
NOTE: Thanksgiving pies orders should be placed by Monday, November 21 for a Wednesday, November 23 pick-up at Der Dutchman. Vouchers are good through April 2017.

It's hard to believe, but your child is in his or her final year of Middle School. We know you have many questions about high school, and we are excited to announce an 8th grade parents information meeting to
answer these questions, and many others:
- How does SCS prepare students for college?
- What is the advantage of a Christian high school education?
- When do students begin planning their high school schedule and how are they supported in through the process?
Please plan to join us for this informational meeting on the Sarasota Christian School campus where you will hear from SCS administration, faculty, high school students and parents about curriculum, dual enrollment options, scheduling, college and career planning, middle school to high school transition, athletics, extra-curricular activities and much more.

Moms from all grade levels get together at a different restaurant each Friday to get to know one another, share advice and just relax.
