Choir Festival Performance

Sunday, April 13 3:00pm Bahia Vista Mennonite Church
Each year the high school touring choir performs in the Mennonite School Council's Choir Festival. The Festival is hosted by a different school around the country and beyond each year. This year, SCS is pleased to host one of the regional festivals April 11-13. On Sunday, April 13 at 3pm, 200 choral students from seven choirs, ranging from Oregon to Pennsylvania, will perform together. Please mark your calendar and join us to experience this remarkable performance!

Congratulations to the following eighth graders for being selected to receive a $500 Accelerated College Education (ACE) program scholarship for next school year! Recipients were chosen based on grades, character and leadership abilities. Great job!

Got books? If you're spring cleaning and happen upon a stack of books you don't know what to do with, we can use them!
The media center is currently accepting gently used books for an end of the year used book fair.
We will accept books for all ages, and you may drop them off any time during school hours.
All books collected will be sold at our Used Book Sale, May 7-9, in the media center. This will be a great time to stock up on books for the summer.

Curriculum Celebration is a special evening where pre-k through 12th grade students show off what they have been learning this year.
This is a great night to invite grandparents and friends to experience all of the great things happening at SCS. We hope you can join us!

#1 - Young People's Faith in a World of "Nones"
How can we help young people fan the flames of their faith? Learn from and be inspired by the perspective of youth theologian Kenda Creasy Dean, as presented by Elementary and Middle School Principal Jean Martin.
Director of Guidance, Amanda Schwartz, will discuss a plan for a successful high school experience that affords a SCS graduate many opportunities upon graduation.
#3 - Student Technology Requirements for 2014-15
High School Principal & Director of Technology, Pete Conner, will unpack the various device expectations for middle and high school students next year.
#4 - Olweus Bullying Prevention Program Update Director of Academics, Dawn Graber, will discuss what teachers and students have been doing to build healthy relationships on campus including highlights from this year's 3rd-12th grade survey results.
