We Heard You
Thank you to everyone who completed the parent survey this past summer.  As a result of your feedback, we have already made the following changes:
  • Installed front door locking mechanism and implemented additional security measures to bolster student safety on campus.
  • Expanded our college planning and high school guidance support to include the Princeton Review assessment course, parent/student education meetings regarding testing scores and strategies, the college application process and financial aid, a USF career workshop, an increase in the number of presentations to our students by colleges and universities, and much more.
  • Our middle and high school chapel program now integrates more small group and student-led opportunities.
  • Incorporated healthier menus and additional choices into the lunch program.
We value your insights; please let us know how we're doing or provide feedback by clicking here.
K-12 Conference Day
Early Dismissal Day for K-12
Tuesday, October 22
1:00-7:00 p.m.

Please plan to participate in our upcoming parent teacher conferences. There is no substitute for face-to-face communication with your child's educator. We value this opportunity to relate with you, and report cards will be distributed at this time.

Dismissal Times
Elementary: 11:15 a.m.
Middle: 11:15 a.m.
High: 11:23 a.m.
Pre-K has classes as usual.

Elementary school parents are able to sign up with their student's teacher for a conference time in the main lobby.

Middle school conferences will be held in the auditorium and there is no need to sign up in advance.  New this year: Conferences will be student-led, so be sure your student attends and be prepared for a journey through their learning experience.  If you would like to meet with teachers for a more extended time please call or email to schedule an appointment with them.

High school
conferences will be held in the gym.  Teachers will be present, and there is no need to sign up in advance since these are brief round-robin style conferences.  If you would like to meet with teachers for a more extended time please call or email to schedule an appointment with them.
Guess What Day It Is?
Add a description
Last Wednesday students were surprised when a camel walked into their assembly!

The assembly was actually to kick-off our Cow Drop event ticket sales. What does a camel and hump day have to do with a Cow Drop, you ask?  Absolutely nothing, we just thought it would be fun.

Yes, we know the Cow Drop is a strange event, but this event has the potential of raising $25,000 for SCS. That's why we need everyone's help to make it successful!

In lieu of magazine sales this year, we're asking students to sell as many $10 tickets as they can.  For each ticket a student sells, they will receive a piece of duct tape which will be used to tape Coach Mason and Mr. Graber to the wall!  Also, if they sell 5 tickets they will receive a free pizza from SRQ Pizza. Click here for student ticket sale instructions.

How The Cow Drop Works:

The baseball field will be marked with 2500 squares.  Participants purchase as many $10 squares as they want.  A cow will be released on the field.  Then we wait for the cow to do what a cow does naturally.  Whatever square the wandering cow drops a 'pile' on wins. Winning square gets 10% of ticket sales (a potential of $2500) and eight surrounding squares get $100 each!

Tickets can be purchased online by clicking Buy Now below, at the front office, or from SCS students.

Time To Check Volunteer Service Hours
As we start the second quarter, now would be a great time to ensure that volunteer hours you have earned so far this year have been recorded in our system.

Simply login to RenWeb, click Family Information, and then click the Service Hours tab. There, you can see hours on file for each family member.  And now, you can also log your hours by clicking the Add Service Hours button.

(Note: You must log in from a computer; mobile devices and apps do not display the service hour menu.)

If you have questions, please contact Delores Mead at 371-6481, ext. 200.
Bullying Prevention Program

Christ taught us to love our neighbors as ourselves as this year's theme verse reflects in Romans 12:9-10 Don't just pretend that you love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Stand on the side of good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.

We believe students are able to reach their full potential in an atmosphere that is physically, socially, spiritually, and emotionally safe.  That is why SCS is a fully-trained Olweus bullying prevention school.   Bullying undermines and opposes our goal of creating an atmosphere conducive to learning and recognizing the value and worth of each individual.

Bullying is defined as a form of aggression, different from normal conflict in that the person bullying others feels contempt for its target.  Bullying may be direct or indirect, blatant or subtle. Bullying is characterized by an imbalance of power and affect, and actions that are intentional and usually repeated.

Our four bullying prevention rules displayed in all classrooms are:

1. We will not bully others.

2. We will try to help students who are bullied.

3. We will try to include students who are left out.

4. If we know somebody is being bullied, we will tell an adult at school and an adult at home.

To report bully-like behavior that you or your child have observed first hand, please use the Bullying Prevention Reporting Form.  Feel free to contact your principal with any questions.
