coffee hour The PTA will host the last coffee hour for the school year.  Please join us to learn more about the SCS summer camp programs.  A brief introduction about the camp programs followed by a question and answer segment will be conducted by Coach Phil Helmuth and Bonnie Shine.   Summer camps are a great way to keep kids engaged in creative, musical and sporting activities.  Summer camps provide a safe atmosphere for children to interact and make new friends.

PTA would like to take a moment to thank the following staff members who kindly shared their time and knowledge at our coffee hours this year.  Thank you Dawn Graber, Phil Helmuth, Allison Aulwurm, Michelle Jensen, Jean Martin, Bonnie Shine. We had the pleasure of being introduced to topics about Middle School, Global Family Initiative, ACT/SAT and College, Growing Kids into Passionate Readers and Helping Kids Stay Physically Fit.

OdysseyOdyssey Teams Need Your Help

Four Odyssey of the Mind teams have earned the opportunity to compete at the World Competition, which takes place May 22 - May 25 at Michigan State University.  SCS has the honor of being represented by more teams than any other school in the State of Florida.

The cost of sending, housing and feeding just the children to this competition will exceed $31,000!  None of this amount covers coaches, parents or chaperones and we rely on community sponsors to help make this trip possible.

There are many ways you can help.  Here's a few.
  • Make a donation

  • Enjoy some Chick-fil-a - Wednesdays before school you can purchase a chicken biscuit or cinnamon clusters for $3
  • Enjoy a Keva - May 2, 10, & 17 before school you can purchase a Keva Juice for $3
  • Get Your Car Washed - May 11 from 8am-1pm in the Der Dutchman parking lot
  • Register to Run the Virtual 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk - This is a race just like any other, except there's no official race location.  You register for the race and then you run/walk on or before May 11.  You run/walk when you want, where you want.  Then, just email the results when you're done.  There are lots of prize categories.
