On April 6th five SCS teams competed in the Odyssey of the Mind State Competition held in Orlando. Four of the teams earned the opportunity to compete at the World Competition, the most from any school in the State of Florida!
The 4th/5th grade team, coming off a first place regional victory and a Ranatra Fusca Creativity Award (the highest award in the Odyssey of the Mind program), placed second at States and is heading to World Competition for the first time.

The 7th grade team took first place at both the Regional and State Competitions and will be going to the World Competition for the second year in a row.

Our 8th grade team also took first place at both Regional and State Competitions. They are going to the World Competition for the fourth year in a row, where they placed 2nd in the world last year!

Our 10th grade team is advancing to the World Finals after taking first place at the Regional Competition. They also placed first at the State Competition for the 5th year in a row and earned their 2nd Ranatra Fusca Creativity Award (only four awarded at the state level this year). Last year the team placed 3rd at Worlds!

The high school Student Council is sponsoring a blood drive on April 22 from 12:00 - 4:00 pm. One donor saves three lives!
Mark your calendars for the class of 2013 Baccalaureate and Commencement services. Baccalaureate will be Thursday, May 23 at 7 pm at Bay Shore Mennonite Church. Commencement will be Friday, May 24 at 7 pm at Bahia Vista Mennonite Church.
