AuctionAuction Gift Gathering
Now through Dec. 21
"Gift Gathering" for the 54th Annual Auction & Festival is well under way.  If you have not received a letter explaining your class Gift Gathering/Basket please contact your room parent or class basket coordinator.

The goal of Gift Gathering is to collect item donations for the Auction from businesses that SCS families frequent and support.  Gift Gathering in November allows companies to donate items before the end of the year and before the holiday hustle and bustle.  It also gives the Auction Committee time to enter the hundreds of items that are collected.

Don't forget that for every item donated worth $20 or more, you will receive an entry into the 25%-Off-Tuition Drawing for the 2012-13 school year!  Be sure to turn in items by Dec. 21 to be eligible. (official drawing rules)

Remember, the goal of Gift Gathering is to collect item donations from businesses that you frequent and support.  Donation forms are available in the front office.

New to the school?   Want to see what the Auction & Festival is all about?

Questions?  Contact Betsy Christner at 371-6481, ext. 222.

BazaarBlazer Bazaar Donations

Start your spring cleaning early and donate items that are barely blemished, gently used or new to the "Blazer Bazaar and Marketplace."  The Blazer Bazaar will take place during the Annual Auction and Festival and is a great place to pick up some treasures for a good price.

For your donating convenience, marked donation boxes will be in the front lobby. Please take a moment to tidy/dust your items before dropping them off.  It helps us greatly speed up this organizational feat!

Note: The Blazer Bazaar does not accept clothing items, however, the middle school is collecting used clothing for their Global Family Program fundraising.  The collection bin is located in the middle school breezeway.

BullyBullying Prevention Program Survey
Tuesday, November 27
As part of our commitment to bullying prevention, our faculty and staff are being trained through the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program.  On Tuesday, November 27th, we will be administering a bullying questionnaire to all students in grades 3-12.  This anonymous questionnaire will help us understand the specific needs of our school.

A copy of the questionnaire will be available to parents who wish to see it at the front office.  If you have any questions or concerns regarding the questionnaire or prefer your child not participate in the survey, please email elementary and middle school principal Jean Martin at jmartin@sarasotachristian.org.

Friday, December 7 @ 7:45 a.m.
Media Center

"The more you read, the more things yocoffee houru will know.   The more that you learn,

the more places you'll go."

From I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!

by Dr. Seuss

Take a break from your holiday shopping and join the PTA and Michelle Jensen, SCS Librarian, for coffee, donuts and important information on the topic of reading.  If your child would choose leafy green vegetables and chores over reading a book, then this seminar is for you.  Mrs. Jensen will share some valuable tips on how to encourage children to become better and more passionate readers.
