On April 15, Jackson Standifer had the chance to play with the Fresno Grizzlies on Good Karma Night. For that game, fans picked their own ticket price and half of all the proceeds came to Valley Children's. Click here or here to read more about Jackson's story.

We are so blessed to have kids like Danay Ferguson, the 8-year-old founder of Reading Heart. She donated 4,000 books to Valley Children's Literacy Program. Danay says, "I love books so much and I want to make sure all kids have a book to read. Some of them are here for a really long time and they can't leave. I want to help them be happy, and reading makes me happy. I also want them to be able to have books of their own."
Thank you so much to Danay, her parents Dwayne and Vanessa and Reading Heart! These books will help children here for years to come.

Children's Miracle Network Partners
We are now in the middle of Miracle May. Last year our CMN partners Costco and Walmart raised $621,000. We encourage you to go and support your local Costco and Walmart locations by purchasing a Miracle Balloon.
May 1 - May 31: Costco Wholesale. In addition to Miracle Balloons, with any purchase of Cheerios, Children's Tylenol, Extra Strength Tylenol, or Infants' Tylenol, a $1 donation will be made to help sick and injured kids receive the best care.

Are You Ready for a Vacation?
Planning a vacation is exciting. Before you leave there are important things to remember - have the post office hold the mail, adjust the hot water heater, set up the security lighting and alarm systems, pack the right clothes and so on.
Before leaving home there's one more thing you shouldn't forget: Is your will or living trust ready for a vacation? If you can check off each item on this estate planning checklist, you really are ready for a relaxing time away.
- I have a will or living trust.
- My immediate survivors know where to find my will or trust.
- My executor and alternate executors are still capable and qualified to serve.
- I have appointed qualified guardians and alternate guardians for my minor children.
- My executor knows how to find the information necessary to settle my estate.
- My attorney has recently reviewed my will or trust to ensure its compliance with tax changes.
- My survivors' financial needs have been reviewed and addressed.
- My children's financial benefits will be provided for in a trust.
- My survivors know key people they could consult in decision-making situations.
- I have made my specific charitable wishes and bequests known.
Giving your will or trust this check-up is an excellent annual practice - even if your vacation doesn't involve travel this year. Appropriate attention to these issues today can help avoid stress, heartache, and unnecessary expense so you can experience an enjoyable and relaxing vacation.
