WASHINGTON STEM SEEKING NOMINATIONS

Washington STEM will be profiling and sharing the stories of Washington state teachers who are pioneering implementation of Common Core Math Standards and Next Generation Science Standards over the course of the 2014-15 school year. Each story will feature photos and videos filmed in conjunction with the profile.

Washington STEM is looking for your help in identifying inspiring STEM teachers. Nominate yourself or your favorite teacher who is championing these new standards. Nominations will be rolling through the school year.

 

CHILD CARE SUBSIDY RATES INCREASED

On June 30, 2014, the Department of Early Learning adopted emergency rules increasing child care subsidy base rates by four percent effective July 1.This base rate increase is required under the 2014 supplemental budget enacted by the Washington State Legislature.

The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction and Precision Exams (www.precisionexams.com) are excited to announce our new partnership to deliver standardized CTE assessments statewide.

 

Microsoft IT Academy Top 10 Schools

The Microsoft IT Academy has 216 schools testing students with 16,847 total certifications as of June 18, 2014.

 

This seven-hour workshop being held on August 3 in Yakima will provide instructors with the tools they need to develop, manage, and advise a SkillsUSA chapter in their school or classroom.
