HCES Faculty Update
|
It is with much gratitude and love we support Ms. Tammy Dennis as she begins a new journey as an employee of Huntsville Hospital. Ms. Dennis served students at Hampton Cove Elementary School for the past seven years. She worked as an Instructional Aide as well as a Clerical Aide during her time at HCES. Ms. Dennis always brought a smile to our staff and to the families of HCES. She was a servant leader and an amazing employee. We wish Ms. Dennis the best!
Please welcome to the Hampton Cove Elementary School office, Ms. Jonie Christensen. Although we will miss Ms. Dennis, we are excited to gain such a positive and friendly team member in Ms. Christensen.
The HCES faculty appreciates your patience during this transition in our front office.

National Day of the Deployed
|
Deployed Celebration
Huntsville Veteran's Memorial
Sunday, October 25
2:00 - 4:00 pm
National Day of the Deployed
Monday, October 26
This year, 16 schools in Madison County participated in the Dimes for the Deployed drive during the month of September, and this raised over $6,000 for A Smile For Troops! This money was used to send care packages to deployed troops.
On Sunday, October 25 there will be a celebration at the Veteran's Memorial downtown from 2:00 - 4:00 pm to celebrate our deployed. Please join us in this celebration!
Monday, October 26 is the National Day of the Deployed. We have several ways to encourage Patriotism and Support of our Deployed this year:
DIMES FOR THE DEPLOYED
This was a September fundraising event in each classroom. Students sent in their spare change to help understand that even a small donation makes a difference. The winning classroom in the city gets an ice cream party.
R.E.D. (Remember Everyone Deployed) Wear you "Day of the Deployed" T-shirt.
"Decorate the School" (or the yard) with Flags, Pictures, Drawings, Ribbons. Anything RED!
Thank you in advance for your interest in helping A Smile For the Troops. My goal as the Director of a Smile For Troops is to try and reach out to our local schools and help our children understand the patriotism and the sacrifice associated with a soldier being deployed. Also, this program helps students understand the sacrifices their classmates with a deployed family member make. Please contact Kiley Henry at kileyhenry@gmail.com with any questions.
