We hope to see many of you at our PTA Meeting & Arts Night next Tuesday, April 21. Please join us at 5:30 pm for a casual art stroll while Valley Conservatory performs. There will also be tours of our new HCES Entertainment Technology Academy (ETA) classroom from 5:30-6:00 pm. Performances by our Valley Conservatory Music club, Fantasy Playhouse Theater club, and our HCES Choir will begin at 6:00 pm.  Finally, we'll have a brief PTA update and vote on the nominees for the 2015-2016 HCES PTA Board: Jen Bailey Wade (VP Academic Support), Karen Whitaker (VP Membership), Callie Beavers (VP Fundraising & Sales), Kristen Warr (VP After School Enrichment), Melanie Clark (VP Community Partners), and Laura Hale (Secretary).  Thanks again to our PTA Nomination Committee for their efforts in putting together this Board slate!  Please note that HCMS will also be hosting their "Shake Night" on Tuesday, April 21 from 5:30-7:30 pm in the HCMS Gymnasium, if you'd like to visit both of our events that evening.

This Announcement provides some items that are pertinent to the next few weeks - Huntsville City Schools Summer Lab early bird pricing which ends today - Wednesday, April 15, as well as the 4th Quarter progress reports will go home in today's Wednesday folders. Lifetouch photo orders are due tomorrow on Thursday, April 16.  Next week, we celebrate Teacher Appreciation all week, with a duty free lunch on Thursday, April 23, and we have our PTA Meeting & Arts Night on Tuesday, April 21.  The last week of the month is a busy one, as we have our 5th Grade Sock Hop on Tuesday, April 28, and our school hosts K for a Day on Thursday, April 30 (2 sessions - 8:30 am and 12:00 pm) and a Volunteer Celebration on Friday, May 1. The first week of May brings the final Book Fair of the School Year from May 4-8.  There's also a short note below on the continued need for gently-used clothing at school, Kindergarten registration, as well as a reminder of the upcoming Huntsville Track Club's Cookie Dash Fun Run & 5K at Hampton Cove Middle School and in our Deford Mill neighborhood this Saturday, April 18 at 8:00 am.

Please help HCES PTA and our school by volunteering for an hour or so!  Volunteers are needed to sit with the class during the Teacher Appreciation luncheon on Tuesday, April 23. We appreciate all volunteers that can sit with the classes so that teachers can enjoy a special luncheon with their peers. We will also need volunteers on Friday, May 15 for Spring Fling (sign-up genius below and at least two people to walk around with each class). Please contact your classroom Room Parent if you sit with the class on April 23, or walk with the class on May 15.
