Focus on the Fundamentals
As summer rolls into fall and "life" is just about to jump start again, now is a great time to take stock of your files and get organized. We need to maintain information on a wide spectrum of HR information related to your employees (past and present!). Whether you maintain your files electronically or in a four drawer filing cabinet (or both), you must have a clear understanding of what information you need to maintain and how long you need to retain it. This month, we offer helpful tips and checklists for keeping yourself and your files organized.
Should any of these topics spark interest for you - or even cause a wave of panic - relax and contact us. We can assist you in identifying what you need to have, how to obtain it, when to destroy it, and what to retain. HR Strategy Group is here to help you with a focus on the fundamentals in your business.

HR Services for Federal Contractors
Helping federal contractors be successful by addressing their specific HR needs.
TIP: Review your contracts to determine if you need an affirmative action plan! Do you need to have an affirmative action plan in place? For example, contractors with contracts over $10,000 must take affirmative action with regard to qualified individuals with disabilities, according to Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Also, under Executive Order 11246, federal contractors and subcontractors with 50 or more employees who have entered into at least one contract of $50,000 or more with the federal government must prepare and maintain a written program, which must be developed within 120 days from the commencement of the contract and must be updated annually. Contact HR Strategy Group for assistance with managing your HR responsibilities as a federal contractor.
