Dear Friends of the Anglican realignment for orthodox faith,
As we have noted in recent updates, both the English Church and the American Episcopal Church have been on a downward slide, with the speed accelerating. The governments of the UK and the USA are both very much caught up in the rush to sexual deviancy and license, with traditional marriage suffering at the hands of both the government and the two churches. Stop for a moment and let your room grow still. Can you remember where you were during the last week of July in 2003? Do you remember what you were doing or where you were going? Do you remember what church you belonged to back then? Bear with me, for I remember exactly where I was, what I was doing and what church I belonged to, and it seems like a lifetime ago.
Ten years ago next week, beginning on July 30, 2003, the General Convention of the Episcopal Church began their triennial meeting in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The American Anglican Council had assembled a formidable team to staff our work: the exhibit for orthodoxy on the main exhibit floor; our information gathering and debriefing team, which gave updates each noon over lunch to all who wished to come; our hearings and testimony team which ensured that every key issue had orthodox speakers standing in line to speak (if they were allowed); a legislation team that tried to modify objectionable legislation through orthodox deputations present, and a communications office that posted news daily, both in a printed newsletter for those present and via the internet for those watching at a distance.
In spite of the largest and best-staffed AAC orthodox team ever assembled, the relentless push of the heterodox lesbian and gay supporters rolled forward. One of the major issues was the consideration by General Convention of the election of the Rev. Gene Robinson to be the next bishop of New Hampshire, and it quickly became clear that he was not going to be denied. Early on, evidence surfaced about links on his website to other shameful websites. We took screen shots to document the progression of links, and we considered it to be shocking and grounds enough to deny approval of his election, even if his personal situation of being a divorced person now living with his same-sex partner wasn't....

Message from Canon Ashey
| Dear Friends in Christ,
The American Anglican Council joins the millions in the UK and all over the world celebrating the birth of George Alexander Louis to Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge. I'm sure we can identify with both the joy and the hopes this child brings not only for the parents, but for the future of the monarchy in England. He will surely have a bright future ahead of him.
But what about the pre-born children who do not have the same resources, education, family and future ahead of them that the newest Prince of England has?
It is common in our culture for children to be aborted, among other reasons, for the "quality of life" they might experience if they were allowed to be born. "Quality of life" is cited as the justification for aborting children with genetic defects, rare diseases that are likely to shorten their life span, a fatherless family, a family living in poverty and violence. It is ironic that such a concern for "quality of life" has created and accelerated our culture of death by abortion (at the beginning of life) and euthanasia (at the other end).
But there are signs of life in our culture of death! Consider the story published in The Washington Times on July 9. The facts are as follows: A young couple was planning to abort their unborn child who had been diagnosed with Downs Syndrome. A Catholic priest who learned about their situation reached out and offered to take the child, but for a variety of reasons he had to act fast. So he used his church's social media pages to post the following plea:
"There is a couple in another state who have contacted an adoption agency looking for a family to adopt their Down Syndrome unborn baby. If a couple has not been found by today they plan to abort the baby. If you are interested in adopting this baby please contact Fr. VW IMMEDIATELY," the post read. "We are asking all to pray for this baby and the wisdom that this couple realize the importance of human life and do not abort this beautiful gift from God!"...

Source: Christian News Network July 24, 2013 By Garrett Haley
An outspoken atheist is generating controversy in his pursuit of a position as an official United States Navy chaplain.
In applying for the chaplain position, 38-year-old Jason Heap points out that he earned master's degrees from both Oxford University and Brite Divinity School, with substantial experience in human resources. He also successfully completed the necessary paperwork and all the required physical tests.
However, in order to be accepted as a Navy chaplain, all applicants must receive endorsements from religious organizations approved by the military....

What's at Stake with Internet Pornography

| In light of British Prime Minister David Cameron's actions on Internet pornography, here's why I think we ought to care about digital porn....
In one sense, the issue of pornography is not new at all. Human lust for covenant-breaking sexuality is rooted, Jesus tells us, not in anything external to us but in our fallen passions (Matt. 5:27-28). Every generation of Christians has faced the pornography question, whether with Dionysian pagan art, or with Jazz Age fan-dancers, or with airbrushed centerfolds.
But the situation is unique now. Pornography is not now simply available. With the advent of Internet technology, with its near universal reach and its promise of secrecy, pornography has been weaponized. In some sectors, especially of our young male populations, it is nearly universal. This universality is not, contrary to the propaganda of the pornographers themselves, a sign of its innocence but of its power....

German homeschool family denied asylum in the U.S. appeals to Supreme Court

Romeike family
|
July 23, 2013 By Kirsten Andersen A German homeschooling family who fled to the United States in 2008 after persecution by officials in their home country has filed an appeal with the Supreme Court asking to be allowed to stay.
Uwe and Hannelore Romeike and their children were first granted asylum in the U.S. by a Memphis judge in 2010 after a costly battle with authorities in their native Germany over their choice to educate the kids at home. Strictly-enforced German laws enacted during the Nazi era require all children to be taught in state-approved schools, but the Romeikes, who are Christian, say they object to the government-approved curriculum on religious grounds.
But in 2012, under pressure from the Obama administration and Attorney General Eric Holder, the Board of Immigration rescinded original judge's decision to grant asylum....

Obianuju Ekeocha: Leave Africa out of your intolerant world of redefined marriage
| Source: LifeSiteNews July 25, 2013 By Obianuju Ekeocha, founder of Culture of Life Africa
I believe that every design, good or bad, starts in the heart of the designer; every building plan arises in the imagination of the architect and every sculpture is conceived in the creative thoughts of the sculptor.
It is becoming increasingly evident that a new design has been conceived in the imagination of the wealthiest class of social engineers and cultural architects in the Western world.
The most terrifying and disconcerting thing about this reality is that when all is said and done and the new design is unveiled for all to see, it will many times demand the deconstruction of what has always been.
It was with great shock that many people across the developing world received the recent ruling by the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) that reflected a tectonic shift in the perception and reception of marriage in America. This happened at the same time as the victory cries of LGBT rights advocates are resounding over France, UK, Australia and even parts of Latin America where the new world order is being established. In these parts of the world, the rulers and leaders are declaring, in an almost dictatorial manner, their unshakeable stance on the redefinition of marriage and reconfiguration of family structure through new legal mandates, new parliamentary moves and new executive manoeuvres....

Iran: Imprisoned pastor receives overdue medical treatment

Saeed Abidini

July 25, 2013 By Charlie Butts
A fresh campaign will soon be revealed to free an American pastor imprisoned in Iran.
Saeed Abedini, who immigrated to this country and became a citizen, was jailed after a return visit to Iran. He has been in prison for over 300 days there because of his prior work in Iran's house church movement. He has suffered many episodes of torture and lack of medical treatment. His wife, Naghmeh Abedini, spoke about the latest word on her husband.
"It's very encouraging news because he's been taken to the hospital two or three times before, but just to be examined and never treated," she says. "And this time he actually had an endoscopy done. He had several other tests done, and it was confirmed that he had a wound in his stomach area and that they'd given him medication for that."
The wound was presumably from the beatings he has endured.... The rest of the article may be found here.
