Clergy Leadership Training Institute Update
| As of May 1, the AAC has completed four Clergy Leadership Training Institute (CLTI) sessions in 2013. Our inaugural group has now "graduated" from the program, completing their third and final session at The Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove in North Carolina on March 1. One of the participants in this group made the following comment:
"...I'm certain to look back at this teaching as being foundational in so many ways. All 3 years have been wonderfully helpful, and have given me personal and parish insights."
 | Ft. Worth CLTI members |
In subsequent weeks in March, we held CLTI Session 2 for the Diocese of Ft. Worth, and Sessions 1 and 2 for the Anglican Network in Canada and the Diocese of Cascadia on the West Coast of the US.

We look forward to a new CLTI group slated to begin in November for members of the Gulf Atlantic Diocese and the Anglican Diocese of the South. This CLTI group will be trying out a new venue for CLTI, the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers, Georgia.
It is a privilege for the AAC to contribute to the development of leadership skills in our Anglican clergy.

US:'Nervous' administration retreats in Bible publisher lawsuit
|
May 7, 2013
By Charlie Butts
The federal government is surrendering in one of the 59 lawsuits filed against the ObamaCare mandate to provide free insurance coverage for contraception, abortion-causing drugs, and sterilization.
At the government's own request, a federal appeals court on Friday dismissed the Obama administration's appeal of an order that halted enforcement of the Health and Human Services mandate against Tyndale House Publishers, which publishes Bibles and other Christian literature.
Alliance Defending Freedom suggests the administration was "nervous" about defending its position. ADF attorney Matt Bowman tells American Family News the government had contended the publisher was not Christian enough for a religious exemption.
"The government dismissed its appeal because it knows how ridiculous it sounds to argue that a Bible publisher isn't religious enough to qualify as a religious employer," says Bowman....

Reporter Covering Gosnell Murder Trial Changes His Mind on Abortion
| Source: LifeNews May 8, 2013 By Steven Ertelt
Local journalist J.D. Mullane has been the most dogged reporter following the murder trial of Kermit Gosnell. When most media outlets ignored the trial of the abortion practitioner, Mullane was there chronicling every day of it.
In a new interview with pro-life former governor and Fox News host Mike Huckabee, Mullane talks about how the power of what Gosnell did changed one reporter's mind on abortion.
"That's the power of the Gosnell trial," he said.
"There is one journalist sitting in that courtroom who writes for a local publication who has told me that he is very liberal, very pro-choice, but after sitting through the testimony in the Gosnell trial, he's reconsidered. He's changed his mind," Mullane says in the interview .
"Gosnell pulls the curtain back from the inherent violence of abortion," Mullane said. "You can't sit in that courtroom and learn about what abortion does to the unborn child and to the woman in many cases," the reporter explained to Huckabee. "You can't sit there day after day and week after week and listen to that testimony and not be changed, and not have a change of heart, or at least reconsider your position."...

Archbishop Peter Jensen
|
May 4, 2013 By David Ould
For the last 6 months members of the Diocese of Sydney have been having conservations amongst themselves about who should replace Peter Jensen as Archbishop when he retires in a few months. Several names have been canvassed and considered. Options have been aired and then rejected and a few names have kept cropping up.
