We are so proud of the work the Conservation Federation of Missouri, our affiliate partners and so many individual Missouri citizens are collectively accomplishing. The legislative session has ended and great strides were made this year. This article touches on the direction we are heading.

Don't Wait to Find Your Next Deer Hunting Property

 

This time of year, I enjoy slowly driving back roads glassing agriculture fields for deer. I do so because I simply love watching deer, but also to identify areas with high deer density and specific bucks worth pursing. These are areas I'll try to gain permission to hunt.

 

The window for conducting these back road scouting trips is rapidly closing as crops are becoming too tall. Soon the deer will be hidden from view. This means if you hope to identify and learn about areas you want to hunt while scouting from the road, you need to get out and do it now.

 

I keep a log of my road trips. I mark down how many deer I see in specific locations and what those deer are...

Great American Campout

National Wildlife Federation's Great American Campout is a summer-long celebration of camping as a way to connect with nature and wildlife.

Pull For Conservation Weekend
August 7-8, 2015
The weekend festivities will kick-off at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, August 7 at Bass Pro Shops of Columbia with a social event that includes dinner, drinks, music, silent auction and raffles. This gathering is always a great time for getting together with old friends and making new ones.

 

The Pull for Conservation shoot will take place on Saturday, August 8 at River Hills Sporting Clays near Boonville. Participants can shoot individually or as a two shooter scramble team.

 

If you have never attended this annual fun shoot make plant to join us this year for a great time.


Explore the Outdoors - Saint Louis
Event Planned For This Fall

Saint Louis is the second stop of CFM's series of regional events in 2015. The event familiarizes Saint Louis area residents with the outdoor opportunities in their area while they learn more about the Conservation Federation of Missouri. Attendees will enjoy auctions and a banquet in the evening. Everyone is invited!

 

The cost for individuals to attend includes a one-year membership to CFM. Spouses and children have a discounted family rate. Children ages six and under attend for free.

 

There are sponsorship opportunities for businesses. Sponsors receive ten tickets and an Iron Business Alliance Membership with their purchase.

New Interactive Advocacy Portal
Has Been Launched

The Conservation Federation of Missouri has launched a new Interactive Advocacy Portal. Once signed up, the system will allow residents to see who their representatives are and send already written emails directly to them with the click of a button.

 

Conservation in Missouri is experiencing attacks like never before. Legislative bills are threatening our successful Department of Conservation by eliminating funding sources and altering conservation authority. This new advocacy portal allows Missourians to have a greater voice in these policy issues that affect conservation and our precious natural resources.By working together, our voices will be heard by decision makers before they act on your behalf.
