OCOM Bulletin
NOVEMBER 2011
Yellow Mountain, An Hui Province, China
Greetings!

What a beautiful fall! As we begin to head into winter with the recent cold snap, I fondly recall a few lines from a Chinese Buddhist monk, poet Shih-Shu, reminding us to celebrate each moment as it comes, knowing all of life is a cycle of growth and change: "Autumn drives off the yellow leaves, but spring renews each green bud." So much beauty now -- and so much to look forward to in the future.

On that note, I encourage you to become the future now by clicking "Like" at facebook.com/OCOMPDX, OCOM's official Facebook page. Doing so will give you access to updates that keep you connected to exciting news beyond our monthly Bulletin publication: daily links to stories, photos and video about life on campus, our clinics, and the progress of our new campus. You can also follow OCOM on Twitter at  www.Twitter.com/OCOMPDX

This month's OCOM Bulletin focuses on building upon the past to create a more vibrant future: read how OCOM will support the ongoing need for low-income health care services thanks to a generous Kaiser Permanente grant, celebrate the award of a National Institutes of Health grant for OCOM's Research Department as well as the opening of our new  OCOM Hollywood Clinic, visit China's Nanjing University through the eyes of our study abroad students, and get an update on the renovation of our Old Town Chinatown campus slated to open Fall 2012.

Enjoy! In good health,

Gretchen Horton

Director of Community Relations and Giving

p.s. Share the health! Forward the OCOM Bulletin to family and friends, and encourage them to join our mailing list.
