Dear Friends,

What a great summer we've had here at the farm, and it's not over yet! This month we're going to have more fun with the following scheduled activities:

  • Joe Wolter Horsemanship and Cow-working Clinic
  • Farm Tour practice
  • Michelle Grimmer Dressage Clinic
  • Cow-working Fun Day
  • Freedom Farm Jumper Clinic
  • Adult Workshop

The 14th annual Harvest Festival is in early October, and we will be spending a lot of time between now and then preparing horses and riders to perform for the Farm Tour. We need volunteers to help with the Farm Tour. Please send email or give me a call to sign up as a volunteer.

And, as usual, be sure to check your email Inbox for announcements and more details of farm events. Sign up can be done online or by contacting me via email or phone.

Mary

Joe Wolter 2
Joe Wolter Horsemanship & Cow Working Clinic
Friday, August 3 - Sunday, August 5

Clinician Joe Wolter will help riders learn key elements of working livestock, including positioning, timing, pressure points, control, and horsemanship. Joe says, "The ability to work stock is secondary to the team work required between rider and horse. Horsemanship allows the horse and rider to blend together into one mind and work as a team. Putting the horse and rider up against a free thinking animal like a cow challenges both to work together to manage the cow in a manner quiet and pleasing to all involved, including spectators, the livestock owner, and most importantly, the rider and their horse."

Michelle & Dublin

Michelle Grimmer Dressage Clinic

Michelle's clinics are always full and always fun.
Space is limited, so be sure to contact Mary to sign up soon!

Cow Working

Cow Working Fun Day

Our next cow-working date is set for

Sunday, August 19

Noon - 3 pm

Working cows gives your horse a job to do, and is so much fun!
Join us, and then enjoy the transformation in your horse
that becomes evident in all aspects of his or her training
just from this one activity!

Contact Mary for more information, or to let her know you'll be riding.

Adult Beach Camp Report

The adult beach camp at the end of July was wonderful! We stayed at the Lake Lodge Bed and Barn, which has lovely group accommodations, nice horse paddocks, and a large covered arena. We enjoyed walking to and riding on the beach together every day, and learning from Mary how best to support our horses in the herd and while moving away from the herd out in the open. All of us who participated had a great time, and we look forward to next year's camp. Hopefully some of you will join us!
