It takes dozens of people to make a community theater thrive. Antrim has a core of very dedicated volunteers who work hard to make us the very best theater in the area. However, we need help. We are in desperate need of people who have experience in the following areas or are willing to learn:

. Advertising

. Benefits
. Graphic Design
. Stage Managing
. Producing
. Light/Sound Design and 
Just to name a few. If you are retired and looking for a way to get involved in an extremely worthwhile and rewarding endeavor or just want to use your skills or learn a new one I urge you to contact us. Please email

President's Corner  

Dear Antrim Patrons,

Things are really buzzing at Antrim in April. We are putting the final touches on our musical blockbuster "Damn Yankees" which opens on Thursday April 11th with a special 2 for 30 ticket deal. Buy 2 tickets and pay only $30. That's almost 40% off our regular ticket price. Seats are going fast so make your reservation now. We have also finalized our shows for next season and are officially starting our 2013-2014 membership drive. See full details of this elsewhere in this newsletter.

Due to the sluggish economy, in spite of continuing to bring you the very best productions possible,  we have not been attracting the large audiences that we once enjoyed. In order for Antrim to remain viable we have had to make some changes that will take effect next season. One of the most exciting changes is that we will be partnering with the Helen Hayes Youth Theater beginning in July. The HHYT will be using our space in the summer, during the month of December and again in April. They will be presenting shows featuring some of the most talented young people in our area and I urge you to come see their productions. Together, we are planning a multi-generational production of Scrooge for next December featuring a combination of young actors and some of your adult Antrim favorites. There will be more information on this in future newsletters. This partnership is a win-win for both of our organizations as it will bring us a much needed new revenue source and provide a permanent home for this wonderful troupe of young actors. To accomadate this partnership we have had to scale our productions schedule back to 5 shows as opposed to the 6 we have been presenting in the past. The board of directors has also decided to forgo presenting a musical for next season only. Although musicals have historically been our biggest money makers they are also the most expensive to produce. By saving this expense it will allow us to divert those monies to some much needed repairs for our theater and to help us build up an operating reserve. Be assured that the lack of a musical on our schedule is only temporary and we hope to come back with another musical for our 2014-2015 season.

Due to these changes we have reduced our membership fee to only $75.00 for next season. This means you can see our great shows for the low price of only $15 each. There will be a limited number of memberships available so get yours today.
Our "Cruise For 2" raffle to Bermuda is rapidly winding down. The drawing will be held on Sunday May 12 so if you haven't bought your tickets yet, you should do so immediately so you don't miss out. Tickets are available on our website, www.antrimplayhouse.com, or at each Damn Yankees performance. going strong.

We have 3 board members whose terms will be expiring in May. Please read the article titled Your Board Of Directors in this newsletter for complete details.  


As I do every month, I want to once again thank the teams of actors, production staff and volunteers who make our productions possible and to the countless other people who work everyday of the season to make this theater run. I would be remiss if I didn't thank you, our loyal patrons, for supporting us. Without you none of this would be possible or necessary.

There are 3 board seats expiring in May of this year.  The nominating committee has submitted the following 3 people to fill those vacancies:

All Antrim members are eligible to run for a seat on our Board Of Directors.

The new board will be announced at our General Meeting on Wednesday May 22, 2013 at 7:30PM. If we receive write in ballots then an election will be held at that meeting. All Antrim members are eligible to vote and are encouraged to attend that meeting so their vote can be counted.
