To court is to discover what someone or something loves, and to find elegant and gallant ways to bring that into their lives. When our heart has been touched by the keen seeing of the Other into our own true nature, a delicious dance of loving reciprocity begins, a rich conversation of being known deeply and the experience of being ravished from the inside out.
Often we project this longing out into the world -- the endless search for the perfect mate. Or spend hours in disappointment of what we don't receive from our 'significant other.' The magic alchemy resides in the inner courtship with our own invisible soul, the shy one in the wings of our psyche who has always been waiting for our attention and gaze to focus on what he/she loves, and to begin to whisper love poems to this one while washing the dishes or taking a walk in the moonlight with the shadow of our desire illuminated on the path in front of us. These simple acts of engagement with ourselves open the doors to what is numinous.
The ravishment is our own secret discoveries of what brings our hearts and passion fully alive. In courting our own mysterious inner soul/lover, we are carried off in an ecstatic enthusiasm to birth new life into the world through encounters with our deepest authentic nature. This new, never-before-seen life, begot through intercourse with the mystery of our soulselves is what the world is longing for at this pivotal moment in time. Program begins at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday and ends at noon on Sunday.
