Money Out Citizens
Stand up against Citizens United:
Money Out, Voters In!

Saturday Rally at Noon in Louisville!

At 12 noon on Saturday, January 19, 2013, come to the steps of the Jefferson County Courthouse (6th and Jefferson Streets) as we rally for two bedrocks of a just and free political system. First, to protest the Citizens United ruling on its third anniversary, join the nationwide call to get big money out of politics.  Second, to honor Martin Luther King Day, demand the right for everyone to vote without obstruction.

The Supreme Court's 2010 decision in Citizens United opened the floodgates for special interest money and corporate influence in politics.  Giant contributions from wealthy individuals and corporations now shape who gets elected and what they do once in office.

At the same time, a rash of voter suppression laws in more than 30 states has threatened to make voting difficult, if not impossible, for millions of Americans.  A democratic state needs to continually improve access to the ballot box for all citizens, not restrict it.

Please come on Saturday to rally for a better democracy as we stand in solidarity with others rallying all across the nation.

Kentucky Interfaith Power and Light invites you to join us
in Frankfort on
Thursday,
February 14th
Starts at noon
in support of KFTC's
I Love Mountains Day

Let's walk our talk in solidarity. Let's be heard as one voice saying:
"We love our Kentucky mountains and want them and their culture protected!" and
"We want clean, just energy now!"

I Love Mountains Day is a great community experience that can recharge and invigorate.  It's even better (and greener) on the Kentucky Interfaith Power and Light bus!

This march and rally continues the calls on Governor Beshear, our state legislative leaders, and our leaders in Washington D.C. to serve the public interest and care for creation by ending mountaintop removal and working towards a clean energy future that supports good, safe jobs and healthy communities.

A Rally to Influence Energy Policy and Stop the Keystone XL Pipeline

WH 2013
Our Kentuckiana Group at the November 2011 Action at the White House
(not pictured: 12,000 fellow citizens)

Cultivating Connections, Greater Louisville Sierra Club, and 350 Louisville are jointly sponsoring an effort to achieve maximum Kentuckiana participation at this important climate change awareness rally in Washington DC, on Sunday, February 17 by coordinating rides and housing. (find details below).

President Obama has just 4 years left to provide the leadership we need to stop climate change that is likely causing extreme weather like Hurricane Sandy, and Keystone XL is the biggest test of whether he's up for the job.

On Presidents Day weekend, we'll be taking to the streets of Washington DC with thousands to form a massive human pipeline, and to tell the President that we expect leadership on climate change, beginning with a rejection of the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline.
