CHAMBER CONNECTIONS
Greetings!

Well we are one month into the new year and things are moving ahead full steam at the Chamber.  We have some exciting plans for 2013 including this new "Chamber Connections" newsletter that will be used to help you keep connected with what is going on in the Chamber and the community.  We will be sharing other plans at our Annual Dinner on February 7th (which I hope you are planning to attend) and in future issues of Chamber Connections.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if there is ever anything the Chamber can assist you with!

Grant Provides Businesses with Energy Efficient Lighting...for FREE

The City of Kansas City Missouri received a $20 million grant from the Department of Energy to assist in reducing energy consumption in commercial structures, among other initiatives.  The South KC Chamber recently participated in the program and was able to get our lighting replaced with the more energy efficient T8 lamps and ballasts.  We also qualified for occupant sensors.  This, along with a complete energy analysis was all at NO COST to us.

The program is open for enrollment through March 2013, but it is first come first serve until funding is exhausted.  I encourage you to contact Consumption Auditors Consulting at 913-568-5555 to get started.  As I am sure you are all aware, the T12 lighting production was ceased by the Department of Energy July 2012.  Once the current inventory is depleted it will cost the business owners up to $145.00 per fixture to retrofit to the T8 lighting.  Don't miss this great opportunity!  Feel free to stop by and see the Chamber's new lighting.
