Dear Friend, Painting - From the Inside Out

What is it like to paint from the inside out - when there is nobody telling you what to do or making suggestions what you can do or teaching you how to do it?

I recently had the opportunity to guide some new painters in this experience at the Open Center in Manhattan. I was touched and humbled by the vulnerability and courage, by the curiosity and willingness to explore this process. Each and every person was where they were- where they needed to be. Whether moved by feelings, touched by a sense of freedom and playfulness, resistance, judgment, or just interested in the process. The beginning step was taken to inhabit the self. - or as Anna Q. says: to become oneself.

You have the choice. Can you give yourself permission? All you need to do is show up. The space is provided. Safety is created for you to follow your impulse and swim in the river of creativity.
