Each of the 3 times I have come to one of Eve-Marie's Painting from the Inside Out, day-long workshops, I have found it a richly rewarding, heart opening experience. Eve-Marie, as she explains at the beginning of each session, sees this as an opportunity to play, to meet kindly and welcomingly the parts of ourselves that arrive at such an invitation, to experience the freedom of risking even expression that feels transgressive. She helps each of us individually, once we get going painting, to find joy and meet pain if it arises, to explore all the colors our paint brushes are drawn to, to let our minds rest, and our intuitive impulses to express themselves. She leaves us alone until we ask for help, and then is beautifully attuned.

I find myself hungry for this form of expression, but it brings me immediately to my limitations. So I cannot do it alone, even though I love the colors and the expression of forms. Eve Marie gently helps me to risk letting go of control, conceptualization, and judgment, so I can instead paint like a child, directly, authentically. Joy arrives, even with the pain, because the experience has a new feeling of immediacy, of Reality. I want this in my life. I shall keep coming back to experience it, wanting to bring what I learn here to everything I do.
