My New Year began with a coming together of committed
people for a day of painting. I was moved by the focus
and intention each person had - to be with themselves
and all that arose in the moment.

The painting process is an opportunity to learn about
yourself, an opportunity to learn about your place in
the world.

How does painting do this?
 
Just the thought of painting may freak you out. Voices
in your head may be saying, "I can't paint". "What (why)
should I paint". "I'm no artist".
 
Whether it is about painting, writing, cooking, or you
name it, we know those voices that block our self
expression.

It is your choice to act.

One way is to dip the brush in a color- any color- and
make your mark. You see, it doesn't matter whether it is
the paintbrush, the pen or the cooking spoon. It's about
the act, the choice you make. It's about you.
