Sat Nam Dear Yogis! We hope this finds you having an amazing and happy November! October was a very exciting month for us. We took a wonderful cross country trip from the East Coast to the West in our jeep, traveling alongside the old route 66 for much of the way. Wow! America is beautiful! It was fascinating to see one state after another gradually transform into its own unique topography and personality! Wow, wow, WOW!!! We finally made it to Los Angeles with a plan to live and teach this side of the Rockies for awhile. Three days after locating a sublet we had to leave our jeep in its new parking space and fly back East to work on finishing up our two latest projects - our new DVD and book. The DVD will be available by January 1st (more on this next month). The book is in its final stages (inputting editors corrections, formatting and placing the photos).
We are so happy to announce that our 3rd round of 200 hr. Teacher Training in Memphis is complete. Please be on the lookout for some amazing new Teachers of Spirit in your midst! Congratulations to all of you graduates! We are excited to see you go out and inspire the world! Congratulations as well to those of you who participated in our first module of the Teacher Training in Tulsa. It's so beautiful when a community comes together to grow and flow in Spirit! Module Two is right around the corner (see below) and it's not to late to hop on board the soul train!
Our first stop teaching on the West Coast this Fall is at the fabulous Indigo Yoga & Pilates in Pleasant Hill, CA (near San Francisco) this weekend(see details below). Energy is gathering for a Teacher Training there as well! We hope to see you there!

That Old Black Magic
I have almost all of your DVDs and have been working on them for several years now and even though it has helped me with aches and pains and weight loss, my emotional life is getting more depressed. A friend from India told me that I should
go to this man who can take away "Black Magic" because that is my problem because all my relationships never get very far. Whenever I attempt anything: relationships, business or my writing, I get so far and then it seems to be taken away. I hope this doesn't sound strange, because I am not too sure about any of this either. This is a bit unnerving and quite curious. Have you ever heard of anything like this? I wrote a novel, a publisher took it and it was published. I received quite excellent reviews, but that is as far as it went. Nothing has now come of it. It seems like I just get so far and that is it. I thought Yoga could help, but it doesn't seem to turn things around. Do you have any advice. And do you know about these bad blocks? Am I doing my yoga incorrectly, or could what my friend said be true. Thank you so much and thanks for the wonderful DVDs
Thanks for writing. Re: black magic. Energy is real. Intention at a distance is real as well. But we should always take the most prosaic explanation first and extend the range of possibilities from there. Is there a black magician trying to harm you via supernatural means? The odds are the answer is no. It is possible to be "born under a bad sign," meaning that sometimes our astrological influences can be quite challenging. But don't despair! Everything does contain its opposite and the greater the challenge, the greater the range of blessings. Also, there is (at least from a yogic viewpoint) some validity to family "curses," (karma). The good news is that having found your way to Kundalini Yoga, means that you also have "Perfect Destiny." We suggest that you practice the mantra: Gobinday, Mukunday, Udharay, Uparay, Hariang, Kariang, Nearnomay, Akamay. If there are any "dark forces," arrayed against you, that will eliminate them. We also suggest doing the mantra: Adi Shakti Adi Shakti Adi Shakti Namo Namo Saraba Shakti Saraba Shakti Saraba Shakti Namo Namo Pritham Bhagvatee Pritham Bhagvatee Pritham Bhagvatee Namo Namo Kundalin Mata Shakti Mata Shakti Namo Namo. That relates to the Divine Mother, and in cases like this it can turn everything around. Do the first mantra for 11 min. following by Adi Shakti Mantra 108x per day. Do this for at least 40 days without missing a day. We also suggest regular practice of our Navel Power DVD. How can doing a mantra affect the script of our lives? The answer is that we are aligning ourselves with energies of the Universe to work in our favor and also with a more propitious time line. There is no way to describe this without sounding like pseudo-science until science catches up. All we can do is be scientists ourselves and proove again what's been proven by yogis for thousands of years. Re: your emotional life getting more depressed: Sometimes we have to dig deeply to resolve the unresolved. The answer is to delve into more deeply into Kundalini Yoga Meditation, because it will work. Please keep us posted!
Chatterbox Mind

It seems to me like most (a lot) of the chatter comes from the right side of my mind. (now i understand why in cartoons an angel and a devil appear on each side before doing a decision! ^^) I wanted to ask you guys if you know a kriya to shut, the constant chatter of the right side, up for good?
I know sodarshan chakra kriya is very good
for this, but I have stomach issues and to pull/pump the stomach is pretty painful. thx
Thanks for writing. Quieting one's internal dialogue is one of the most powerful spiritual attainments. It gives tremendous power, energy, clarity, and wisdom. The first step is to learn to step back from our thoughts and be the dispassionate witness to the play of mind. Then we can pick and choose which thoughts are in our best interest, and which ones we can let go by, like clouds in a blue sky. The second step is to actually learn to still our thoughts There is a great Meditation which is on our Meditation for Beginners & Beyond DVD. It's called Deep Meditation into Thoughtlessness. Have your hands in your lap and focus at the Third Eye. Mentally repeat (and listen to) the sound Wah Hay Guru (3 separate syllables) resound above the top of the head. 11 - 31 min. Very soon you will enter a thoughtless state. When this happens don't be afraid. In the manner that most people can't be alone in a room without the TV on, most people can't be in their own heads without their minds on! There is a beautiful day beckoning. Be willing to take a walk outside into the light and air of the Eternal!
Hey There! I recently found out that I have type O blood. I have been vegetarian for a year and a few months and now vegan for a few months-- I'm wondering if I should be eating meat. Now that I think back, my hair and skin have been effected I think since I stopped eating meat a year and a half ago. Basically I'm just wondering what you think a good diet for type O blood would be because I trust your opinion, and there's a lot of conflicting information out there on the subject. I'm kind of distressed over this predicament haha because I don't want to eat meat, but if I should be eating it then I will have to drastically change my lifestyle. We do believe eating for your blood type has some validity and that having type O blood may mean that you need a bit more protein, but it doesn't have to be animal protein. Ravi is type O and he has been a vegetarian since the age of nineteen. You may not be able to change your blood type, but you can change your frequency! A regular Kundalini Yoga and meditation practice will do this, and will make it easier to transition to lighter forms of nutrition. Becoming vegetarian initially requires more diligence to make sure we get all the nutrition we need. Often when people decide to become vegetarians they notice they don't feel as strong at first. Part of this is due to a detox effect, especially after having eaten meat for many years! Part of this is also the body having to get used to a new type of sustenance. What we would suggest is rather than stepping back from your vegan diet at this point, try stepping forward! Add more raw food, etc.. being sure to add some protein rich items (nuts, seeds, seaweed, protein powders etc..). Another option could be eating fish every so often to help in this transition. You may find that the perfect diet for you is a vegan diet with some fish once a week or month! Please keep us posted and thanks so much for your beautiful participation in the training! Dear Ana, First, I want to thank you both for making such wonderful yoga practice dvds. I love it all - the music, the mantras Ravi's narration, your smiling effortless practice, and the fact that I don't feel rushed into anything that my body and mind are not ready for. Thank you!! I have a question for you, and hopefully you will be able to take the time to respond. Where do you get your yoga tops from? - the ones covering up to the sternum , as well as some sleeves!! I realize this might sound like a silly query, but I will really appreciate your response/help. I have inhibitions about the kind of clothes I can wear, and everything that is available out there for yoga is low cut and way too uncomfortable for me, so I have to layer up and that starts to get uncomfortable pretty soon into the sequences

They are not real surf tops, they are sort of a fashion version of surf tops. I actually shop in the children's dept. for them. You can find similar tops online: Click here for an example.

 Meditation of the Month: Winning Life's Battles
Sit in Easy Pose. In this variation your feet extend beyond your knees.Wrap your fists over-handed around the big toe of each foot. Your right hand will be holding your left toe and vice versa. Straighten your spine and apply a slight Neck Lock. Breathe long and deeply. Imagine that your nose is at your Heart Center. Breathe through your Heart Center. There is no use of a mantra in this one. If you are leading a class, hypnotically repeat to your class, "Your nose is at the center of your chest, breathing at your Heart Center. Your nose is at the center of your chest, breathing at your Heart Center..." You will begin to feel as though your nose is actually at the center of your chest as you do Long Deep Breathing. Practice this for a maximum of 18 min. Guru Gobind Singh taught this Meditation to his soldiers before battle. Yogi Bhajan said that this meditation will take 50% of your opponent's pranic projection and add it to yours. Comments: This Meditation is not about being contentious or taking advantage of anyone. Sometimes in life we have to look out for ourselves because people may aggressively try to undermine us to serve their own agenda. There also may be times when we need to protect ourselves physically. This Meditation shouldn't take the place of other forms of preparation, but all things being equal, this type of technique can give us a definite edge when we need it the most. Guru Gobind Singh used Kundalini Yoga to train regular people, barbers, butchers, farmers, merchants, and poets, to be Warriors. This was necessary because at various times in India, the Sikh people had to fight for their very existence. Circumstances are not always easy or convenient, but with a regular Kundalini Yoga / Meditation practice, 'Life is hard and then we FLY.' |
