Dear Pet Pal Peeps,
Welcome to the Marvelous Month of May, where the weather continues to be...a mystery. Wine-n-Kibble begins this month, with Mike Soler being our first featured guest, Friday, May 11th. Every second Friday of the summer months (through September) needs to be scheduled for you and your pals to come meet, mingle, eat, drink, learn, take home vendor samples and perhaps win prizes! PLUS, we have popcorn!
John and I went to a pet expo in Atlantic City a few weeks back, and lemme tell you... do we have some treats in store for you and your furry friends! You'll need to really look around when you come shopping for food, treats and toys! New stuff is FUN!
Notice a change in our newsletter? Events and Product have been separated into two different emails - Events will be sent out prior to the upcoming month and you can print them for your reference. Product News is much more about product, and, of course, Ask Gabby. Don't forget to mention the coupon! Savings is savings!
As always, John and I are grateful to our customers for supporting us. The staff at Baron's loves animals and really loves to help however we can! If we don't know, we'll find out!
Sincerely, John, Stacy, Drake, Gabby, Lilly and Louie (the Mayhem Maker)
PS - Please go to www.biddingforgood.com/funds/4furryfriends and check out Animal Rescue's online auction that began May 5th, for the month of May. You may find some great items that you can bid on and all donations go to Animal Rescue. |
Dining in the Raw!
We are excited about the two wonderful new raw foods we carry; OC Raw Dog (for canine and feline) and Northwest Naturals bars and bones. Ask the staff about it. Samples are available so you can try before buying. (Remember - we can't accept returns on raw food.)
Why feed raw? The amount of "waste" they produce is significantly reduced because they are absorbing the nutrients. PLUS less water dehydration; eliminates hot spots, itching, scratching, skin allergies/irritations; leaner dogs, lustrous coat; reduces body and waste odor; clean ears; naturally strengthens the immune system, reduces inflammatory conditions, increased energy levels; clean teeth, reduces anal gland problems, increases resistance to fleas and internal parasites. To name a few more reasons...

Dear Gabby,
It's not even summer but mom is finding ticks on me. What's up with that?
Signed, Bugging Out in Bel Air
Dear Bugger, it is INDEED an unusual year for weather. I had a job once, working in research for the National Weather Service (apparently I had the nose for it) and it's a nasty fact we had no help with snow and cold through the winter months to prevent bug offspring. Indeed, we HAD no winter and the whiners and naysayers who hate cold and snow rejoiced (I know who they are and I turn my back on them) but I knew we'd be in a serious insect impairment mode this summer. Which I guess is now, albeit early!
Interestingly, adding raw food to your diet will help immensely from being buggy bitten. Mom got in some new raw food this month, which I personally like a lot. You should suggest this to your human. We have lots of raw food options. Don't know what's so exciting about sushi - give me beef, chicken, bison and lamb tartare and I'm ecstatic! Although, raw mackerel tastes almost holy...
We carry other things that can help as well. The Shoo! Tag is fab! Louie surprised mom with a tick (see, if mom is surprised, it's early tick season!) and with the Shoo!Tag on his collar, he's been tick free. Works on humans, too! Also kills those pesky, blood-sucking 'skeeters. If you don't like to wear a collar, we have the spicy scented Sentry Natural Defense squeeze on - it's all natural and works well; also available in a spray that works in the home. Then there are shampoos and sprays - Richards and Ark Naturals are favorites to recommend.
Ya gotta bark at your mom, Bugger, and be proactive in this. Ticks and fleas are bad news bugs.
Hope this helps.
Sincerely, Gabby Duffy, MS

Shoo!Tag, for animals and humans is available in a single pack or a stronger outdoor pack of 3 tags. Natural Defense Squeeze-ons come in weight appropriate doses.
