Curious About Education for Ministry (EfM)?

Do you wonder what we do on Monday nights?

 Then I hope you will plan to join us on Monday, April 18 at 7PM in the Parish Hall to observe our weekly seminar.
EfM is a distance learning opportunity out of the School of Theology at the University of the South at Sewanee. We meet weekly from September through May. The Program is four years in length, but one needs only to commit to one year at a time. First year we study the Hebrew Scriptures; second year the New Testament; third year Church History; fourth year Theology and Ethics.
I hope you will come and see how much fun we have talking abut the Bible and our faith. It might lead to your joining us in the Fall! Speaking of EfM, two of our parish members are completing their four years of Education for Ministry (EfM) and will graduate on May 22, Trinity Sunday. Instead of a sermon, the EfM group will reflect on the Trinity. A gala coffee hour will follow. |

Amy-Jill Levine to Visit Grace, Oak Park

Amy-Jill Levine, Professor E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Professor of New Testament Studies and
Professor of Jewish Studies at Vanderbilt University, will visit the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago this spring and there are several opportunities to hear her speak (including at Grace, Oak Park):
- Friday, April 29: "Preaching and the difficult anti-Jewish texts," 7 pm at Grace, Oak Park, 924 Lake Street, please register here.
- Saturday, April 30: Interfaith dinner and presentation "Agreeing to Disagree: How Jews and Christians Read Scripture Differently," 6 pm at Grace, Hinsdale.
