From the Rector
Shawn Schreiner
One of the things that is at the heart of life at Grace is forming our very young children in the life of faith. Presenting Jesus to them is done in a most magnificent way here. Are you familiar with what we do? No? Yes? No matter your answer, this Sunday is a great chance to find out more. See the next article for more information.

Peace,

Shawn

Contemplative Prayer During Lent
We have cancelled this evening's session
Please note that we have cancelled this evening's Centering Prayer Discussion and Contemplative Prayer due to the weather.  We're sorry for the inconvenience.  We hope to see you next Wednesday.
Pastoral Notice
We ask the community to pray for Linda and Howard Hutchinson - former members of Grace Church - whose son Langdon died this week. The funeral service for Langdon will be this Saturday, February 27th at 2 pm at First United Church in Oak Park (848 Lake Street). Please allow extra time to park.
It Was a Joyous Affair
Black History Luncheon
As Sarah Hunt so beautifully put it: "On the day of the luncheon, the entire Church seemed to radiate. The service was stunning, the hymns brought tears..., and the sun seemed to pour into the Church and Parish Hall, making the beautiful windows, fantastically gorgeous outfits and the brightly decorated tables gleam....We could feel the love! God was truly present."

Black History Month Luncheon 2016 featured - in addition to the wonderful cuisine, and a larger silent auction - an art exhibit with works from the celebrated African American artist Margaret Burroughs and artifacts of slavery from the Archie Listenbee collection.

The sum of $2100.00 was raised, and a check will be sent to Lawrence Hall for their music program.

Thanks to Grace Church, Rev. Shawn Schreiner, and to the many, many people who contributed so generously in a variety of ways to make the luncheon a success.
