May God bless us with discomfort at easy answers, half-truths and superficial relationships, so that we will live deeply in our hearts.
May God bless us with anger at injustice, oppression and exploitation of people and the earth so that we will work for justice, equity and peace.
May God bless us with tears to shed for those who suffer, so that we will reach out our hands to comfort them and change their pain to joy.
And may God bless us with the foolishness to think that we can make a difference in our world, so that we will do the things which others say cannot be done.
A prayer attributed to St. Francis of Assisi

Veterans Day Comfort Kits for Homeless Veterans
|
We are collecting toiletries for veterans! This is in preparation for our First Sunday Gathering on November 1st from 9:30-10:30AM, when we will put toiletry "comfort kits" together. Please check out the list of what we need at this link. The list is also posted in the Parish Hall.

Unless you have business at Grace Church, we ask that you refrain from parking in Grace's lot. People are increasingly parking in our lot to catch a train or to shop on Lake Street, and with our reduced parking capacity this is problematic for people trying to park at Grace for meetings or events held here. This is particularly true this Saturday, October 24, when we're hosting a large wedding.
Thank you for your cooperation!

Think You'll Be Hungry Before the Film?
|
Please support our youth in their fundraiser
|
Coming to see Phantom of the Opera at Grace on October 30 (see below for more details)? How about coming a little early for some good food! Our youth will be selling hot dogs, brats and more. All funds will assist them on the pilgrimage that they will take during the summer of 2016. Gonna miss the movie? We bet you will still need to eat dinner. Come around 6:15 and enjoy some food and fellowship. More details will follow next week.
Thanks!
-Kendall and Shawn

The brisk autumn nights are a signal that the end of gardening season is near. On behalf of the garden ministry, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed to the special fund for landscape plantings. The area uprooted by the foundation project has been replanted. Your generous contributions allowed us to purchase everything on our wish list. We have planted shrubs in locations that best meet their full grown needs. In the years ahead as we watch these shrubs grow to full size, I think we will be pleased with the changing landscape. We would also like to thank everyone who extended thanks and admiration for the ministry's efforts. It is this appreciation and support that keeps us motivated.
Last but not least, thanks to each member of the garden ministry for their hard work this year. We had several big projects completed. It was truly a team effort.
