"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." Romans 12:2.
Life keeps us so very busy. All of us need to find ways to pause to renew our mind and body and spirits. When we allow ourselves to do this, we create a space for transformation. What helps you to transform your life? What role does--and can--grace and Grace play in that?
Peace,
Shawn

Please help us help the children served by Lawrence Hall
|
Last Sunday, Shawn blessed 20 backpacks to be distributed to children by Lawrence Hall Youth Services (LHYS). In addition to the backpacks, Grace's Outreach Team has purchased school supplies for the program. Next Monday, August 31, LHYS will pick up the back packs, the supplies from Outreach AND supplies that members of our congregation-and friends of Grace!-would like to donate. You'll find a printable list of requested supplies at this link. Please bring items you wish to purchase and donate to church on Sunday, August 30th.

PADS Cooks: how about joining the fun. If you're new to Grace, or maybe just have a change in your schedule so that you have the 4th Wednesday afternoon of the month free, please consider joining the merry crew who prepare dinner for our PADS guests each month. The time commitment for each of us is minimal, but the joy of preparing really wholesome food just can't be beat. If you're interested, please contact Sue Wells (sue@wells1.com).
Our yearly planning meeting and "tea party" will be Tuesday 1:30 Tuesday, Sept. 15 at my house. Thanks to all the PADS Cooks as we start our 11th year together.
-Sue Wells

And a lovely time was had by all
|
This summer over the span of twelve Thursday evenings, some 498 people attended our eighth annual series of concerts that began at precisely 6:26 p.m. Before the concert, 167 persons attended the service of Evensong. Half of the $909 collected from these concerts will be earmarked for outreach to help people like the congregation of St. Luke in Renk Town, and other ministries. Further, some $6,479 had been contributed to the organ repair fund, much of which was raised through the stunning concert given by our own Charlie Carpenter during the concert series. This is a lot of beauty, activity and generosity; all part of the summer tradition around Grace Church! Special thanks are due to Adam Gruber for his support with setup and his constant presence as officiant at Evensong. Thanks are also offered to the very talented artists who so generously gave of their gifts and shared them with our appreciative audience. This year, we also warmly extend thanks to the kind souls who so generously welcomed people with smiles and delectable goodies in front of the church. Thank you also, each kind soul, who attended! We will look forward to next year! -Dennis Northway Parish Musician
