From the Rector
Seventy Elders Anointed
The Lord answered Moses, "Bring Me 70 men from Israel known to you as elders and officers of the people. Take them to the tent of meeting and have them stand there with you. Then I will come down and speak with you there. I will take some of the Spirit who is on you and put the Spirit on them. They will help you bear the burden of the people, so that you do not have to bear it by yourself.
-Numbers, 11:16-25
Perhaps there were not seventy gathered, although pretty darn close, and they were not all men. They were some of the leaders of Grace.
Last night, the vestry, and part of the staff gathered with 87% of our ministry chairs/coordinators to get to know each other, to share some of what our ministries are about and to build community.
Together, these leaders join with you in offering more than 57 different ministries to the members of Grace, to the diocese, to Sudan, and to the communities around us.
Spreading the gospel message of love and hope is at the center of all that we do here. Our staff and all leaders, whether tapped as the coordinator or as a volunteer, devote our minds and hearts and spirits to these ministries.
Today, I am thankful to have so many people who share in this work. By joining together, it is not a burden, but a joy "to bring God's love and Christ's teaching to all people, to become a passionately involved, intentional Christian community, to support the spiritual journey if each person, and to work toward reconciliation, peace, and justice in our world." (2008 Grace Mission Statement)

Our Core Values: -Reach out to support our neighbors locally and worldwide as we seek to obey God's command to love our neighbors as ourselves. -Encourage and support spiritual growth in all people while respecting that each person is at a different point in his or her spiritual journey. -Work to be ever more present to and caring for each member of the Grace community and to be fully welcoming to all who enter Grace's doors.
