2013 Clos Cibonne Rose $25 (Provence)
A pink with a difference!
From its idiosyncratic grape to its unconventional
wine traditions, Clos Cibonne Rose is in a class of its own. Farmed organically, Clos Cibonne is planted to the local grape Tibouren, a vine that produces sweet, thin-skinned grapes of uneven sizes and ripeness. In fact, some unripe grapes are included in the press to add spice and acidity to the wine. The domaine follows a traditional method of aging Rose wines under flor (surface yeast) that adds body, silky texture, savory and herb flavors, and a bit of sherried character -- not to mention the ability to age. Discover this deliciously different tradition in pink!

BURLOTTO Barolo 2011 Discovery Pac-- 15% off!
3 wines, 4 bottles each
On our buying trips to Barolo and Barbaresco, we would always plan to end a long day of tasting marathons with a visit to the Burlotto cellars in Verduno. These classic, silky gorgeous wines were an oasis of refreshment, our reward for fighting through flights of young, tannic nebbiolos.
2011 Burlotto Barolo Classico 92pts. $38.25 each (4 btls)
"A gorgeous entry-level offering and a real overachiever in its category. Small red berries, sweet tobacco, mint, spices and orange rind are all laced together in a pretty, delicate Barolo that will offer considerable pleasure upon release. A weightless, super-refined finish rounds things out. There is so much to like here." -- A. Galloni
2011 Burlotto Barolo Acclivi 93pts. $46.75 each (4 btls)
"What a joy it is to taste Burlotto's 2011 Barolo Acclivi. A wine of contrasts, Acclivi is dark yet translucent, tannic and weightless. In other words, it is a wine that captures the full spectrum of complexity Nebbiolo is capable of." -- A. Galloni
2011 Burlotto Barolo Monvigliero 94pts. $51 each (4 bottles)
"2011 offers gorgeous depth and resonance, not to mention superb overall balance. Savory herbs, olives and herbs inform the pungent finish. Burlotto's Monvigliero remains one of the most distinctive and compelling wines being made in Barolo today." -- A. Galloni

NEW ARRIVAL! 2010 BAROLO 2010 CAVALLOTTO Barolo Bricco Boschis 96 pts. $65
"The 2010 Barolo Bricco Boschis is the flagship wine from this historic estate in Castiglione Falletto. The personality here is dark and brooding with savory aromas of cured meat and smoked bacon in a leading role. The intensity is bright and vibrant and the longer you contemplate the wine, the more it offers. Following a few swirls of the glass, you encounter sweet cherry, white almond skin, licorice and pressed rose. Still young, the
wine shows enormous complexity. Its balanced structure and acidity would pair next to succulent lamb chops or any number of sophisticated meat recipes. Drink: 2016-2026.

NEW in CHAMPAGNE:
AGRAPART & Fils
2008 AGRAPART "Mineral" Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut 93 pts $100
"The 2008 Blanc de Blancs is a perfect example of how open and expressive Pascal Agrapart's 2008s are today. Creamy, ample and highly expressive, the 2008 is all about texture. Lightly honeyed notes, white flowers, almonds, and lemon peel are given an extra kick of energy on the finish, where the wine's underlying minerality and salinity add considerable raciness. 93 pts." --A. Galloni
NV AGRAPART "Terroirs" Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Extra Brut 90 pts. $65
"The NV Terroirs is creamy, rich and expressive, with lovely Chardonnay depth and expression. Exotic floral and honeyed notes give the Terroirs soft contours and lovely overall balance. In this release, the Terroirs is a blend of equal parts 2010 and 2009, a combination that works quite nicely. This is a hugely appealing wine for readers who want to explore the Agrapart style without splurging on one of the higher-end bottlings. 90 pts." --A. Galloni
