Massifitti is the culmination of a ten year project to identify and graft a vineyard of 100% Trebbiano di Soave. Great wine requires patience -- you can't simply brew it up. We're thrilled that the sisters achieved their life-long dream, and that the wine is finally available in the U.S. Revealing finely etched details of fragrant white fruits, silky texture, and powdery minerals, Massifitti projects the regal and refined qualities of this historic viticultural region, minutes from the ancient medieval and Roman city of Verona.  We are pleased to announce a new Wine Associate in our Concord location: LUCY BUSSELL. A native of Britain, Lucy discovered a passion for wine with her first sip of St-Emilion Bordeaux! Lucy spent her formative years in southern California, studied in Spain, and graduated from UMass-Amherst. Lucy's previous wine experience includes: Sales Account Manager at a wine importer & distributor in Los Angeles, working at two Italian-style trattorias, and travel and exploration of several European wine regions. Great food and wine, travel, photography, and social media are some of Lucy's interests and/or addictions. We are excited to welcome Lucy to our team! Rinaldi's gruff and surly persona always informs us of the man's struggle to express an authentic and un-manipulated Barolo in a global wine world that seems to have little room for what is real and true. 2009 is yet another strong vintage for the Langhe, which continues on an unprecedented run of high-quality vintages. Of the fifteen vintages between 1995 and 2011, there have been only two -- 2002 & 2003-- which have been truly difficult. |
