Friday Night, October 24 - Kabbalat Shabbat! | 6:15pm Shabbat happy hour, 6:45pm service and dinner. Join Rabbi Fred and friends for a warm, informal, participatory, multi-generational service to welcome Shabbat. This Shabbat we share in the beloved and rich story of Noah - so much wisdom for our commitment to care for creation - and the celebration of Rosh Chodesh Cheshvan, the beginning of a new Hebrew month. Bring a dish to share for a communal Shabbat dinner, a bottle of wine if you like. All are welcome.

Haiti Service Mission | Rabbi Sid's Kol Nidre sermon encouraged adults and/or families to consider joining the Adat Shalom service mission to Haiti this winter.
The mission will be led by Rabbi Sid and Pam Sommers. It is scheduled for December 21 - 30 2014 and will include building houses and spending time with Pastor Johnny's congregation and school. We already have almost 20 people committed to the trip but we have a few remaining slots. The final deadline to join this "once in a lifetime" experience is October 30th. Please be in touch with Pam Sommers if you want to explore joining the group. If you want to join the over 100 Adat Shalom households who are already Haiti Project partners please be in touch with Marsha Teichman. The commitment of $100/year for five years goes to pay for teacher salaries, student scholarships and school equipment. |

The Gan HaKavod (Garden of Honor) is a unique way to create a lasting tribute to family and friends and to celebrate the passages and milestones of our Jewish lives. This is a beautiful and meaningful compliment for birthdays, anniversaries, graduations and B'nai Mitzvot, as well as to honor the memory of a loved one. If you want to make a donation in this manner, download the order form. Your purchase is a donation to the congregation that will help keep our programs strong and our community thriving. Thank you. |
