CONGRATULATIONS! WE DID IT!

On April 17, I sent a message out asking if "you were the one" who still needed to complete your Portico Health Assessment so that we could meet our 65% participation challenge. Today I am pleased to announce that we did it, and for the second year in a row exceeded our goal (74.81%). Together, we helped save our synod $55,000 (2% across the board premium reduction for all plan members) and earned the 1% wellness rebate to help fund future health and wellness activities.

Each one of the 202 individuals who completed the assessment also earned $150 in wellness dollars to offset their deductible or other eligible medical expenses. Many of you have reported earning the additional $350 in wellness dollars for completing one of Portico's wellness activities. Even if you haven't taken your assessment yet, t's not too late to earn that $150 (September 30 deadline) or to earn the additional wellness dollars (November 30 deadline).

The news gets even better! For the first time ever, all eligible synods, seminaries, and churchwide ministries earned the 2% reduction, saving the ELCA more than $2.5 million in healthcare costs.

Thank you for being good stewards of resources. Thank you for caring for your health and wellbeing. As your bishop, I care deeply about each one of you and your health. Healthy leaders inspire and encourage healthy congregations, which in turn reflects the overall health and stewardship of our synod.

Here's to your health--and to the health of our Lower Susquehanna Synod!

In Christ,

Bishop Jim Dunlop
