Hey, Young Adults... "What's Your Story"?
Young adults ages 18-30 are invited to participate in a discernment service retreat at Mar-Lu Ridge, January 2-6, 2014. Sponsored by Project Connect through a Lilly Foundation grant, this retreat seeks to help participants answer the question "How does your story connect with God's call on your life?" Join together with friends old and new at beautiful Mar-Lu Ridge in Jefferson, MD, to serve the local area rescue mission, cold weather shelter, food bank, church and elderly... and discern God's call while serving others and sharing our stories. The only cost to you is transportation to get there and the $20 registration fee. Interested? Contact Chelle Huth, Project Connect Coordinator at Gettysburg and Philadelphia Lutheran Seminaries by e-mail chuth@ltsg.edu or phone (717) 338-3038. Click here to download a PDF flyer to post or use as a bulletin insert.

No Gimmicks: Back to the Bible on Money and Stewardship
A Rostered Leaders' Retreat with Mark Allan Powell
February 23-24, 2014
Camp Nawakwa, Arendtsville, PA
Stewardship programs come and go, but what the Bible has to say about how people acquire, regard, manage and spend their money remains the same. Biblical teaching on this topic can be realistic, practical, and gospel-oriented. Such teaching offers a way for the church to connect with members in an appealing way and to promote generous giving in a manner that does not come off as self-serving or manipulative. The big surprise: what the Bible says about money and giving is good news! As Dr. Powell says, "Stewardship is not just a way of life; it is the way to a better life."
Registration Fee: $75.00
