Opportunities to Respond to the Typhoon Haiyan Disaster

One of the most powerful storms ever recorded, Super Typhoon Haiyan, crashed across the central islands of the Philippines on November 7. With winds of over 150 miles per hour and torrential rains, it has forced millions of people to flee their homes. Thousands of lives have been lost, and the destruction is devastating.

Both Lutheran World Relief and Lutheran Disaster Response are already providing much needed presence and support in the Philippines. In addition to making opportunities for financial support available in your worshiping community, please check both websites for excellent resources for worship, prayer, and education.

Wanted
Pastor R. E. Langford, Jr., retired, is seeking a dozen or so copies of the 3rd Setting from the Service Book and Hymnal, a plainsong setting based on the Missa Orbis Factor. If you have copies you are willing to share or know how he can get hold of copies, please contact him by e-mail at:  r_e_langford_jr@ecunet.org.

To Share

St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Adamstown has changed their sanctuary lighting so we have available for free 12 - 500 watt Mogul bulbs (they have the bigger base is what the mogul means) - these are used but still good.  We also have 32 - 150 watt longlife A-23 bulbs never used.  We also have a lot of 60 watt bulbs.  We went to energy efficient bulbs.  But since the 500 watt bulbs are expensive we want to try and help a church out who might need them. If you have any questions on the bulbs or would like them contact Pastor Sandy Gideon at 484-4885 or e-mail secsplc@windstream.net and we can get you in touch with our properties person.  We can try to meet you somewhere to help in getting them to you.
