Norma Good Receives Friend of LWR Award
Norma Good, of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Lancaster, recently received the Friend of LWR Award. Emilie Sollie of Lutheran World Relief described Good as "a dedicated, passionate, articulate ambassador for LWR, and has worked tirelessly on behalf of LWR and those we serve for more than two decades"
In her role as the Key Leader in the Lower Susquehanna Synod in south-central Pennsylvania, Good publicizes Quilts and Kits to Lutherans in the synod, and organizes 13 ingathering sites each fall, coordinating site volunteers, dates and trucks. She has inspired thousands of dollars in gifts to the Quilt & Kit Shipping Fund, including multiple bricks on the Good Samaritan Quilt Plaza. Good also serves as an ambassador at large on LWR's behalf through speaking, leading workshops, and leading forums at congregational events, synod assemblies and more.
"One of my great pleasures at LWR has been interacting with the caring and dedicated people who support our Quilt and Kit ministry," said President and CEO John Nunes. "I'm so thankful for Norma and all she has done over the last two decades to help connect those who make Quilts and Kits and those who receive them."
Norma Good and her work with Lutheran World Relief exemplify how God's work is accomplished by our hands in the Lower Susquehanna Synod. Many hands do indeed make light work, especially when a "Good" servant leader is coordinating the effort. Thank you, Norma!
