World Malaria Day is April 25
The time to help is now. Thanks to a generous group of friends, this week your gift to the ELCA Malaria Campaign will be matched - dollar for dollar - up to $130,000.
In the Katakwi District of Uganda, malaria is the leading cause of death among children under the age of 5. Malaria is an additional burden on an already strained population recovering from conflict.
In Uganda, the ELCA Malaria Campaign is working with The Lutheran World Federation, which has built up trust and experience in Uganda for over 30 years. The connections have been made, the people are ready, but we need you.
This week (April 22-April 29) our goal is to raise $250,000 - enough to jumpstart our anti-malaria work in Uganda this year.

Take the Health Assessment
You win. We all win.
With under two weeks to go, we still need 80 people covered by Portico health beneifts (rostered leader, lay staff, and covered spouses) to complete the Mayo Health Clinic Assessment before April 30.
You win - you get a $150 wellness credit toward out of pocket costs for completing the assessment.
We all win - if 65% of covered leaders/spouses take the assessment, every congrgation gets a 2% discount on premiums. This will save $45,000 across our synod.
As of March 30, 95 leaders (35%) had taken the assessment, well shy of our 2012 total of 54%.

- Tables - three to six feet in length that can be adjusted to appropriate heights for young children
