 | Ministry Resources    NEW LIFE.  In The Lutheran's March issue, the magazine follows up its look at the "Shrinking church" (January 2013) with some hope. "Resurrection wonders" highlights congregations that found renewed purpose, fresh ministries and outreach through self-examination and determination. In "Patchwork congregations," learn how churches have transformed ministries by partnering ecumenically. And ELCA leaders encourage "Transformation for all congregations" so the strong can get stronger. A study guide accompanies this article (www.thelutheran.org -click on "study guides" on the left side; it's free for print and Web subscribers).  THINK ABOUT IT.  The Lutheran has resources for individual and group study. In the March issue, columnist Peter W. Marty ponders "That interesting meal: The feast no money can buy, no person can fully comprehend." Go deeper into "Interreligious dialogue" with an ELCA teaching theologian who asks, "Would Martin Luther engage in such discussion today?" And discuss ministry to refugee families by reading "Welcome home" (to help your discussion of this article, visit www.thelutheran.org  for a study guide-click on "study guides" on the left-hand side).   |
