Join Our Community
We're here to serve you. The pastor, youth director, volunteer, Sunday school teacher, Confirmation leader, parent, really anyone who is mentoring children, youth and young adults in faith. When God called his young disciple Timothy, God gave him Paul as a faith mentor, to accompany Timothy as he matured in faith. Similarly, God has placed you in the lives of young people as a faith mentor, teacher and guide. We hope this e-news will be a resource you will turn to for information and guidance as you nurture the faith of young people and families.

Spend your summer at camp!
Do you know a youth or young adult interested in spending the summer living and serving as part of an outdoor faith community? Camp staff applications are now being accepted. Kirchenwald and Nawakwa have employment opportunities for high school and college-age students. Won't you please encourage a young person in your ministry to consider this unique faith formative opportunity?

Positions are available for cabin counselors, lifeguard, kitchen, maintenance, and craft staff. All staff are expected to live on-site throughout the summer season. More details and application information  are available at the Lutheran Camping Corporation Employment website.

Camp staff will receive room and board along with their summer compensation. Staff are to report to camp for training in early June and employment lasts through mid-August.

Camp Sunday: Sunday, February 10
Transfiguration Sunday, February 10, 2013, has been designated "Camping Sunday" for the congregations of the Lower Susquehanna Synod in an effort to raise awareness of the ministries of Kirchenwald, Nawakwa, and The Wittel Farm. (This is a perfect time to remind folks that participation in church camp is one of the most influential experiences in building congregational leadership!)

All congregations will be provided with worship suggestions tying the Transfiguration to the mountaintop experiences of camp. This is a new awareness program. Please encourage your pastor or worship planners to make use of these resources. These resources are easily downloadable at the Lutheran Camping website.

If your congregation already celebrates a Camping Sunday at a different time in the year, thank you! Please continue your traditions to support campers, the Lutheran Camping Corporation, and outdoor ministry.
