We extend our deepest sympathy and prayers for comfort to the family of Doris E. Dick. Doris, mother of the Rev. Melvin Dick (retired), died Friday, October 26, at the Hollidaysburg Lutheran Home.
Prayers for comfort and healing are requested for Pastor Amani Mwaijande, a partner in ministry from the Konde Diocese and student at Gettysburg Seminary. Pastor Amani's father has recently suffered a heart attack, and his mother has been quite ill for an extended time. Also, Pastor Amani's wife, Blandina, is recovering from an emergency appendectomy. Messages of care and support can be sent to amanihosea@yahoo.com.
We pray for the safety of all those who are affected by Hurricane Sandy.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change, though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;
though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble with its tumult.
- from Psalm 46
