National Forum Launches Platform For Cardiovascular Health Policy Professionals

The Policy Depot is a new, innovative social network and resource clearinghouse created specifically for cardiovascular health policy professionals. Developed by the National Forum for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention and CINDI, the Policy Depot provides a place for discussion, sharing, and learning among professionals working on heart healthy policies at the local, state, national, and global levels. NCHS has released a new, dynamic version of one of its most respected publication. The Health, United States, 2011: In Brief interactive website was developed in collaboration with the National Library of Medicine. The website enables users to view, create, and export charts and tables; incorporate additional data from the full Health, United States report; and easily link to related webpages. Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Disparities Funding Opportunity

Komen for the Cure's National Vulnerable Populations Grants is requesting applications from organizations seeking funding to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of processes to reduce breast cancer disparities among vulnerable populations.  Funding up to $250,000 over a two-year period is available.  Learn more here

2013 "I'm Your Community Guide!" Contest

This contest provides an opportunity for organizations using evidence-based recommendations from the Guide to Community Preventive Services (Community Guide) to share how they are doing so for a chance to win recognition for their organizations accomplishments. State, tribal, local, and territorial health departments; community health coalitions; and others who have used the Community Guide in their organization (and community) to improve health and prevent disease are encouraged to enter.

NACCHO's Environmental Health in All Policies (HiAP) Toolkit

NACCHO is pleased to announce the launch of its Environmental HiAP Toolkit. This toolkit includes tools and resources that have been developed and used to help local decision makers educate and raise awareness health in all policies and environmental health policy. Click here to access the toolkit. NACCHO has also developed a YouTube video, which gives a brief overview of HiAP and provides an introduction on how to use the toolkit.
