Greetings!
As I write this I am on my way to Mental Illness Awareness Week activities in Southern California and Washington D.C. What an honor for International Bipolar Foundation to be a partner in so many activities. First and foremost on my mind is our first ever IBPF breakfast event in the US Capitol - Climb the Hill for Recovery. A panel of renowned speakers will address the topic and so much more.
This event concludes a week of activities such as Hill Day where hundreds of advocates have gathered to meet with key legislative leaders to share the many compelling needs of our community that need support and attention. Please see our website's Legislative Advocacy page for information about current bills being put forth and links where you can send letters this week to show your support.
We will also attend a PRISM awards event. The PRISM Awards recognize writers, producers, directors, musicians, actors and actresses for their authentic storytelling of mental illness and substance use issues.
Those in Southern California will find us displaying and disseminating information at the Gathering of Mental Health and The Church sponsored by Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, CA.
Finally, please participate in our Say It Forward Campaign beginning Oct. 12 to promote anti-stigma messages to people all over the world.
To your health,
Lori J. Butler, CFRE
Executive Director
