A Note from Sarah

A pilgrimage is a deeply spiritual journey to which each pilgrim responds differently.  Pilgrimages can take many forms. This Sunday during the Adult Forum, the youth from the J2A Class will present the findings of the church-wide survey about pilgrimages, and the YAC (Young Adults in Church) Class will present their reflections of their J2A experience, which included a pilgrimage to Maine and two mission trips to Philadelphia.

During the Pilgrimage in Maine, the pilgrims were asked daily questions to reflect on throughout the day like "Where did you feel God today?" and "How did you show God's love today?"

Please come and support the youth on Sunday, during coffeehour in the parish hall at 10:15 a.m.
and see their amazing pictures, hear their reflective stories and engage in their spiritual journeys.

Please Note:  There will be NO SUNDAY SCHOOL on Palm Sunday or Easter Sunday.

Funeral Note:
The funeral for Eleanore "June" Hemmick will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow, Thursday, March 19th at St. Margaret's with a reception in the parish hall afterwards.

Easter Flowers Orders Due MONDAY

Parishioners are invited to honor the memory of or give thanksgiving for loved ones through ordering Easter flowers to be placed in the church on Easter. Cost is $25 per plant. Please use this form and put it in the collection plate or get it to the church office by Monday, March 23.
New Egg Hunt Changes Format in 2015

This year, because of space, we will offering timed slots for child participants in our annual Easter Egg Hunt. When the children arrive at church on Easter Sunday, April 5, they will be given a ticket for the Egg Hunt (10:15, 10:30, 10:45 & 12:15). The children are invited to collect as many eggs as they can in their time slot. Inside each egg, there will be a quarter. At the end of the hunt, the children will donate their quarters into a bucket for their charity of choice and receive a bag of candy. The three charities are: (1) The Light House shelter, (2) Relay for Life, and (3) the J2A Pilgrimage. (This is modeled on the Nickels for Non-Profits program at Whole Foods.) Parishioners are asked to donate plastic eggs with a quarter in them and drop them off at the church office by Saturday, April 4th.
Claggett Event with the Rt Rev. Mary Glasspool

The Rt. Rev. Mary D. Glasspool, formerly rector of St. Margaret's and now Bishop Suffragan, Diocese of Los Angeles, is the featured speaker for the first of what is going to be a semi-annual speaker/conference series at the Claggett Conference Center here in our own diocese. This national conference is open to anyone, clergy or laity. Anyone may register. There is a special offer for those who want to hear Mary speak and greet her later on Monday evening April 13. The plenary event begins at 7 p.m. and will be followed by dessert. Cost for that one event is $25. Complete information and registration is through the Claggett Center.
Carpooling is suggested. For more information, contact Izzy Winn at 410-849-2605 or [email protected].
Episcopal Advocacy Day on March 25  seal of diocese

Episcopal Advocacy Day in Annapolis will be held on March 25th with the Right Rev. Eugene Taylor Sutton delivering the invocation in the Senate. Participants will have opportunities to observe bills being voted upon and attend hearings in the afternoon.

The day will also include visiting organizations and coalitions, including Episcopal Housing Corporation, Working Matters, Maryland Interfaith Legislative Committee, Interfaith Worker Justice, Chesapeake Bay Foundation, BRIDGE, TRUST, Out for Justice, and BikeMaryland to learn more about their work.

Way of the Cross @ Manresa

For the 16th year the Ecumenical Service for Good Friday at Manresa will be held on April 3rd at Noon. St Margaret's Church is responsible for Station I that includes decorations, the depiction of Jesus being condemned and Liturgy. The Goldswaith Family will be carrying the Cross from opening devotion to Station I. There is a need for someone with landscaping talents to help plant appropriate flowers. Tom Bein has already made the wooden depiction, but a READER for Liturgy has not been designated as of this writing. All church members and friends are invited to come early (suggest 11:15) to listen to the music and then take the spiritual walk of the outdoor Stations overlooking the beautiful Severn River at Atria Manresa. To help or for more information, please contact Jim Knorr at [email protected].

The third place bracket will get $25 to the same. Second place, as always, get NOTHING. Come join the fun!

Schubert's Mass in E-flat Minor

The presentation of the choral Mass in E Flat by Franz Schubert at St. Margaret's Church has been rescheduled to Sunday, April 12 at 5 p.m.  The mass, a concert length Missa Solemnis, considered to be Schubert's crowning work of choral beauty, will feature Soprano Marlissa Hudson, Tenors Benjamin Greenfield and Adam Caughey, Contralto Candace Potts, and Bass Philip Greenfield.  A small chamber orchestra and organist Gary Kirkeby will accompany the choirs of St. Margaret's Church under the direction of James R. Fitzpatrick.  The concert is free and open to the public.

James and the Rev. Sarah Lamming will make a presentation on the Mass at the next St. Margaret's Guild meeting, Wednesday, April 8, at 1 p.m. in the parish hall. All are welcome!
