Dragon Tales E-News ministry fair
February 25, 2015

A Note from Sarah

This weekend the parish hall will be filled with our ministry fair. The church is everyone and we are able to be who we are today and who we want to be through our volunteers. Please come and learn about the different ministries within the church, discover ways in which your gifts might be able to be used and thank the people who make this community what it is today.

The fair will be held:

*before the 5 p.m. service on Feb. 28;

*after the 7:30 a.m. service on March 1; and

*between the 9 a.m. and 11:15 a.m services on March 1.

Here is a brochure on our many volunteer opportunities offered at St. Margaret's. If you get a chance, take a look and see if something piques your interest and make a point to visit with the group's representative this weekend.

Here are two Prayers for Volunteers

Let us pray and give thanks to all those who have heeded the call to volunteer in our churches

Everlasting God, strengthen and sustain all those who volunteer in our churches; that with patience and understanding they may love and care for your people;
and grant that together they may follow Jesus Christ,
offering to you their gifts and talents; through him who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
(adapted from the Collect at a New Ministry, 1979 Book of Common Prayer)

Almighty God, our heavenly Father, the privilege is ours to share in the loving, healing, reconciling mission of your Son Jesus Christ, our Lord, in this age and wherever we are.
Since without you we can do no good thing, may your Spirit make us wise; may your Spirit guide us; may your Spirit renew us; may your Spirit strengthen us; so that we will be: strong in faith, discerning in proclamation, courageous in witness, persistent in good deeds. This we ask through the name of the Father. Amen.

Seamless Faith for Families in Lent

We are encouraging families to use the Seamless Faith Lenten practices for the upcoming Lenten season.

Today we begin using our Seamless Faith daily practice calendar. For access to the calendar, click here.

Here is a link to purchase the book. The Rev. Sarah Lamming will host a workshop for parents to help you incorporate these faith practices into your family's life on Saturday, March 7, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the conference room. Participants will have a time to interact with other parents, learn about traditions, ceremonies and spiritual practices and come away with practical ideas that you can use at home.
